The ballast water treatment apparatus includes a ballast water transport line configured to transport ballast water between a first location and a second location, the transported ballast water being passed through at least one injector, and a plasma generation device configured to be fed with a feed gas optionally comprising oxygen, and configured to generate a feed gas plasma by a streamer type discharge in a discharge area to provide a treated gas at a treated-gas outlet. The injector includes a liquid passage having an area constructed such as to increase a velocity of the passed-through water in a region of increased velocity, and an injector gas inlet provided in the region of increased velocity. The treated-gas outlet is in gaseous connection with the injector gas inlet.

Various embodiments of the teachings herein include a mixer disposed in a fuel gas combustion system and mixing air and fuel gas to form flammable mixed gases. The mixer may include: a Venturi tube having an air inlet, a fuel gas inlet, a gas mixture outlet, a central axis direction, and a throat positioned between the air inlet and the gas mixture outlet in the central axis direction, wherein the fuel gas inlet is disposed at the throat; and an adjustment component disposed in the Venturi tube downstream of the throat, the adjustment component drivable to move towards or away from the throat in the central axis direction, thereby changing a flow area of gas in the Venturi tube. The adjustment component comprises a conical valve plug with a conical outer surface thereof at a side facing towards the throat and fitting an inner surface of the Venturi tube.

The fluid from the eductors is directed in counter circular paths via circular chambers situated proximate the inlet wells, such that fluid flowing in each direction collides and forms turbulence within the central well. Resultant fluid is directed into a lamella-type separator circumferentially located about a portion of the central well, having layered fluid paths directed radially outwards from said center longitudinal axis and upwards towards said vessel top portion through a conical, inclined fluid path, plate structure. The eductors are adjustable with a movable iris for limiting the amount of clear fluid exiting the eductor.

Systems and methods for dissolving ozone gas in a liquid. An embodiment can comprise a tank having an upper region, a lower region, and a discharge outlet, all disposed in a specified geometry. A pump can be coupled with a liquid inlet in order to receive a liquid therefrom and to deliver the liquid via a pipe to the upper region of the tank. The pump can be coupled with the lower region of the tank in order to receive the liquid from the tank and to recirculate the liquid to the upper region of the tank. The apparatus can include an ozone inlet to receive ozone into the tank. The ozone inlet can comprise a venturi inlet disposed on the pipe downstream of the pump. The liquid can be released from the tank and depressurized, thereby providing for the ozone to emerge from the liquid as gas bubbles. The released liquid can be selected for a two-stage gas and aqueous cleaning process.
