A static mixer or a flow reactor comprising a static mixer for mixing streams of fluid transported through or circulated in a flow reactor is provided. A static mixer element reduces the size of gas bubbles in a liquid for installation in a flow channel, and comprises, a first mixer unit and a second and adjacent mixer unit, which mixer units are displaced relative to each other in the flow direction, such that a through opening in the first mixer unit at least partly faces a surface of the second mixer unit thereby forcing the fluid flow to change direction. Adjacent mixer units have substantially the same height or thickness, and are substantially parallel having a distance between them that may be near zero or up to 10 times the thickness of a mixer unit.

Control circuitry is configured to open a damper during an operational mode of the corresponding gas flow generator and to close the damper when the corresponding gas flow generator is stopped in standby mode.

The chamber may include a static mixer having vanes to impede laminar flow of the liquid during treatment. The vanes extend into the flow path of the liquid through the chamber. A gap is defined between the vanes and the transparent wall. A cabinet may house the chamber and radiation emitting bulbs. Blowers may be operably coupled to a temperature sensor and flow meter and positioned at a lower end and upper end of the cabinet to urge air out of the cabinet. The temperature sensor may include a thermocouple. The blowers may be variable speed blowers. The system may include a controller to control system operations. The controller may be remotely accessible to monitor or control operations.

Removal of atmospheric pollutants from gas, related apparatus, processes and uses thereof

Methods related generally to the removal of atmospheric pollutants from the gas phase, are provided, as well as related apparatus, processes and uses thereof. A single-stage air scrubbing apparatus is provided that includes at least one reaction vessel, at least one introduction duct, and a turbulence component, wherein a residence time is sufficient to allow the conversion of at least one atmospheric pollution compound to at least one other compound, molecule or atom. In some embodiments, the at least one atmospheric pollution compound comprises nitrogen oxide, sulfur oxide or a combination thereof. Additionally, methods of removing atmospheric pollution compounds from a waste gas stream are disclosed that include introducing a waste gas stream and at least one additional gas stream, mist stream, liquid stream or combination thereof into a single-stage air scrubbing apparatus at a flow rate sufficient to allow for conversion of the at least one atmospheric pollution compound.

The first, second, and third inner surfaces 38a, 38b, 38c define a mixing passage receiving the fluid flow. The first and second inner surfaces 38a, 38b are offset by a first acute angle, the first and third surfaces 38a, 38c are offset by a second acute angle, and the second and third surfaces 38b, 38c are offset by a third acute angle. The static mixer 10 includes a mixing element 100 positioned in the mixing passage.
