Method and apparatus for production of uniformly sized nanoparticles
An apparatus and process for creating uniformly sized, spherical nanoparticles from a solid target. The solid target surface is ablated to create an ejecta event containing nanoparticles moving away from the surface. Ablation may be caused by laser or electrostatic discharge. At least one electromagnetic field is placed in front of the solid target surface being ablated. The electromagnetic field manipulates at least a portion of the nanoparticles as they move away from the target surface through the electromagnetic field to increase size and spherical shape uniformity of the nanoparticles. The manipulated nanoparticles are collected.
Process for preparing stable suspensions of metal nanoparticles and the stable colloidal suspensions obtained thereby
A process is described for preparing stable suspensions of metal nanoparticles by means of a microwave-assisted metal nanoparticle synthesis undertaken in an aqueous environment at low temperature and at ambient pressure and atmosphere.
GOLD NANOPARTICLES FOR BIO-MOLECULE DETECTION IN BODY FLUID AND SYSTEMS THEREFOR
This invention provides gold nanoparticles for bio-molecule detection in body fluid and systems therefor. In one embodiment, this invention provides a method for synthesis of gold nanoparticles dispersed in solution. In another embodiment, this invention provides a method for detecting a substance directly from a sample of body fluid with SERS using the gold nanoparticles dispersed in solution. In a further embodiment, this invention provides a system, having the gold nanoparticles dispersed in solution, for on-site detection of a substance directly from a sample of body fluid with SERS.
Aqueous metal colloid combustion additive
The present invention relates to a combustion additive comprising a colloidal solution containing dispersed fine metal particles. The present invention also relates to a method for producing the colloid. More particularly the present teaching relates to a combustion additive having a colloid, wherein the colloid comprises metal particles providing in an alkaline aqueous solution, the metal particles being dispersed within that solution and having an average diameter in the range of 30 nm to 30 μm. The colloid can partly/fully substitute water of a water injection system or used as an air humidification component for combustion.
NANO-SILVER DISPERSION AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
A nano-silver dispersion and a preparation method thereof is disclosed. The method, includes: mixing γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane, polyvinylpyrrolidone, sodium lauryl sulfate, silver nitrate and water, and conducting a chelation, to obtain a chelating dispersion, wherein before the mixing, the γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane is exposed to the air for less than 5 min; and dropwise adding a sodium borohydride solution into the chelating dispersion, to obtain a mixture, and subjecting the mixture to an oxidation-reduction reaction, to obtain the nano-silver dispersion.
Water-soluble solid or semi-solid dispersion of particles
Disclosed are solid or semisolid compositions the including finely divided particles and a water-soluble matrix that dissolves and disperses the particles when in contact with water. Also disclosed are kits for reducing and/or inhibiting odor formation on garment. The kit include one or more containers, wherein at least one of the one or more container includes solid or semisolid compositions the including finely divided particles and a water-soluble matrix that dissolves and disperses the particles when in contact with water. An edible silver delivery system including the compositions is disclosed as are methods of delivering silver to a subject in need thereof.
PREPARATION OF HIGHLY STABLE CONCENTRATED DISPERSIONS OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES USING SYNERGISTIC DISPERSING AGENTS
Methods for preparing highly stable concentrated dispersions of silver nanoparticles and described herein. Contemplated methods comprise combining a selected polysaccharidic dispersant with a selected non-reacting dispersant to yield concentrated silver dispersions with enhanced stability and lowered undesirable residual organics. Contemplated methods further comprise selecting an appropriate source of silver ions to reduce the ionic strength of the reaction medium and final silver dispersions.
AN ANTIMICROBIAL COATING COMPOSITION
An antimicrobial coating composition comprising a nanoparticle composite having a core and at least one shell, wherein the core comprises a silver nanoparticle having an antimicrobial action. The at least one shell is formed by a doped semiconductor providing a photocatalytic action and increasing the stability of silver nanoparticle core by controlling the releasing of Ag ions. The nanoparticle composite comprises a nanoparticle of a noble metal providing surface plasmon under the presence of electromagnetic radiation.
AQUEOUS MONODISPERSE STARCH-GOLD NANOPARTICLES AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
A process for making a conductive ink formulation for jet-printing which uses a fine-tuned molecular weight of hydrolyzed starch particles and using microwave-assisted synthesis to produce a stable, monodisperse, aqueous-based gold ink formulation. This aqueous ink formulation is shown to be highly jettable and forms films which sinter at relatively low temperatures. Printed gold film using the formulation can achieve <1.0 Ω/square sheet resistance upon drying for about 30 minutes and sinters at 200° C. thereby improving its conductivity.
