SUPPORT BEAM FOR SUPPORTING INTERNALS WITHIN A MASS TRANSFER COLUMN
A support beam is provided for supporting an internal such as a structured or grid packing within a mass transfer column. The support beam has an elongated web and upper and lower open flanges respectively positioned at upper and lower edge portions of the web. Each of the upper and lower open flanges has reinforcement rails that extend along a longitudinal length of the web and are spaced from opposed first and second faces of the web by spacers to create open fluid flow channels between the reinforcement rails and the first and second faces of the web. The upper and lower open flanges strengthen the web against deflection while minimizing horizontal surfaces that may lead to accumulation and growth of solids that may interfere with fluid flow to and from the internal.
Structured packing
The disclosure provides a structure that is used in the treatment of a fluid. The packing structure comprises a body having an axis. The packing structure also has at least one curved flow path that rotates around, and extends along at least a portion of, the axis of the body.
PROCESS FOR INSTALLING A SECTION OF PACKING IN A CASING
The main subject of the present invention is a process for installing a section of packing in a casing by means of a device to assist installation of a section of packing, the casing comprising at least one tubular wall extending in a longitudinal direction (L) between two longitudinal ends, and an inner face of which participates in delimiting a receptacle for the section of packing, the tubular wall participating in delimiting an input opening at one of its longitudinal ends, the casing comprising a base wall positioned at the longitudinal end opposite the input opening, the casing being positioned horizontally during the process for installing the section of packing, the process comprising a step of fitting of the device to assist installation on the casing, during which the device to assist installation is secured in the vicinity of the input opening of the casing, a step of positioning of the section of packing relative to the device to assist installation and to the input opening, and at least one step of pushing during which the section of packing is pushed into the receptacle of the casing.
Fluid solids contacting device
A fluid solids contacting device comprising a vessel; a first grid assembly section which comprises a plurality of horizontal chords spaced horizontally apart from each other and a plurality of grid platforms inserted between the horizontal chords; wherein each horizontal chord comprises a structural member with sufficient mechanical strength to withstand fluidized forces in the vessel; a plurality of chairs attached to an inside surface of the vessel and spaced circumferentially apart to support the structural member; and wherein each structural member is supported on one or more of the plurality of chairs is provided.
Structured packing module for use in a mass transfer column and method of assembly
A structured packing module for use in a mass transfer column. Corrugated sheets of structured packing in the structured packing module are held together by fasteners that extend into the corrugated sheets from opposite sides of the structured packing module at an angle of inclination or perpendicularly with respect to the sides of the structured packing module. The fasteners may have an outer surface with protrusions or indentations that resist removal of the fasteners from the structured packing sheets.
JIG FOR INSERTING FILLING MEMBER INTO REACTOR
A jig for inserting a packing into a flow passage of a reactor extending in one direction or for removing the packing from the flow passage, includes: a pair of strip portions extending in parallel with each other, having a length longer than the flow passage; and link portions arranged in an extending direction of the pair of strip portions, linking the pair of strip portions and having lengths with which the pair of strip portions sandwich the packing therebetween.
Reformer tube having a structured catalyst and improved heat balance
A reformer tube for producing synthesis gas by steam reforming of hydrocarbon-containing feed gases, in which a structured stream reforming catalyst is used, is proposed. According to the invention, a heat exchanger tube is arranged in the interior of the structured catalyst, with the feed gas stream flowing firstly through the structured catalyst and subsequently in countercurrent through the heat exchanger tube. This improves the heat exchange between the synthesis gas product stream and the structured catalyst and the feed gas stream flowing through it, especially in the radial direction.
DEVICE FOR INSERTING A SECTION OF PACKING
The present invention relates to an insertion device for inserting at least one section of packing for a gas/liquid separation column into a cylindrical casing, characterized in that a deployment module comprises a main member centred about a main axis of the insertion device, and a plurality of peripheral members arranged circumferentially and uniformly around the main axis, each of the peripheral members comprising an attachment means configured to grasp hold of a packing section, the deployment module comprising a plurality of branches arranged as pairs of branches connecting the main member to one of the peripheral members, the deployment module being able to modify the dimension of the insertion device by modifying a radial distance between the main member and each of the peripheral members.
DEVICE FOR INSERTING A PACKING SECTION
The present invention relates to an insertion device for inserting at least one packing section for a gas/liquid separation column into a cylindrical casing, comprising a base provided with retaining means which are configured to grip a packing section and which are arranged uniformly around a main axis, characterized in that the insertion device comprises at least two fastening means secured to the base, said fastening means being configured to fasten the insertion device to the casing.
The invention also covers an insertion system for inserting at least one packing section into a cylindrical casing, comprising such an insertion device, and a method for inserting at least one packing section into a cylindrical casing that is implemented by such an insertion system.
DEVICE FOR GRIPPING A PACKING SECTION
The present invention concerns a gripping device for gripping a packing section, having a support forming a chassis and retaining means connected to this support and distributed angularly so as to surround the packing section that is to be gripped, characterized in that at least one of the retaining means has movable shoes respectively intended to be in contact with a peripheral edge of the packing section and a plurality of platforms disposed in at least two stages, each platform bearing articulation means able to interact with a platform of a different stage or one of the movable shoes.
