The methods of the invention employ targeted magnetic particles, preferably targeted nanomagnetic particles, and targeted buoyant particles such as buoyant microparticles and microbubbles. Among the benefits of the invention is the ability to combine targeted magnetic particles with differentially targeted buoyant particles to achieve separation of two or more specifically cell targeted populations during the same work flow.

Sequestering agents, kits therefor, and methods of using sequestering agents and kits therefor

Provided are sequestering agents for sequestering non-water moieties from an aqueous solution. The sequestering agents may comprise a detergent; and a polymer operable to stabilize formation of a detergent micelle thereby causing the detergent and polymer to self-assemble into a nanonet upon exposure to the aqueous solution. Also provided are kits therefore and methods for use of the sequestering agents and kits.

REDUCED LEACHING OF A LIGAND
20230137154 · 2023-05-04 ·

A column for removal of a component from a fluid is disclosed. The column has a compartment with a cross sectional area. The compartment contains beads having a diameter. A ligand selected to bind to the component is coupled to the beads. The cross-sectional area and bead diameter are selected to maintain a flow velocity of the fluid within the compartment below a first threshold, thereby reducing leaching of the ligand into the fluid. Also described herein is an adsorbent comprising a ligand that is attached to a substrate by an amine bond, wherein the ligand is resistant to dissociation from the substrate.

Separation material

A separation material includes a matrix that is bound to a saccharide, enabling the separation from a liquid of substances that selectively bind the saccharide. A method for preparing the separation material and a method for separating substances from a liquid that selectively bind a saccharide of the separation material are also described. A device employs the separation material for separating from a liquid substances that selectively bind to the saccharide of the separation material.

Adsorbent particles each containing: a carrier particle containing an organic polymer containing a monomer unit derived from a styrene-based monomer; a hydrophilic organic compound adhered to a surface of the carrier particle; and a diglycolic acid residue bonded to the hydrophilic organic compound. When a BET specific surface of the adsorbent particles as determined by adsorption of nitrogen gas is X.sub.0 and a BET specific surface area of the adsorbent particles as determined by adsorption of water vapor is X.sub.1, X.sub.1/X.sub.0 is 0.10 to 1.0.

SEPARATING AGENT FOR OPTICAL ISOMERS

Provided is a separating agent for optical isomers, which is excellent in solvent resistance and has optical separating ability comparable to or higher than that of existing separating agents for optical isomers of chemical bonding type or physical adsorption type. In the separating agent for optical isomers, amylose (3-chloro-5-methylphenylcarbamate) is supported on a carrier through chemical bonding.

ENHANCED SORBENT MEMBRANE FOR CARBON DIOXIDE CAPTURE AND METHOD FOR SAME
20210370230 · 2021-12-02 ·

A method for enhancing a sorbent membrane for carbon dioxide capture is disclosed. The method includes applying a layer of a hydrophobic material to at least one surface of the sorbent membrane. The hydrophobic material may be one of a polysioxane, a silicone compound, and a fluoroacrylic copolymer. The sorbent membrane may be an anionic exchange membrane, and may have a quaternary ammonium functional group. The layer of hydrophobic material reduces the amount of water used in the carbon dioxide capture process, and relaxes the water quality constraints.
