PROCESS AND SYSTEM FOR COLLECTING CATALYST OR POLYMER SAMPLES FROM AN OPERATION UNIT OF A POLYMERIZATION PLANT

A process (and a related system) for collecting samples of a polymerization catalyst or of a catalyst-containing polymer from an operation unit, having an upper end and a lower end, of a polymerization plant, including the steps of: a) extracting a prefixed amount of product from the lower end of the operation unit through a discharge valve; b) directing the product towards a filtering unit through an inlet valve; c) flushing an inert gas through the filtering unit; d) outgassing the filtering unit, through the outlet valve; and e) displacing the filtering unit, for collecting the sample.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REDUCING CARBON DIOXIDE EMISSIONS FROM A FLUE GAS GENERATED VIA COMBUSTING A FOSSIL FUEL

A system for reducing carbon dioxide emissions from a flue gas generated via combusting a fossil fuel is provided. The system includes a calcination chamber and a sealing-purger. The calcination chamber is configured to receive a plurality of loaded sorbent particles and a plurality of heat-transferring particles such that the loaded sorbent particles are heated within the calcination chamber so as to release carbon dioxide. The sealing-purger includes at least one gravity driven moving particle bed. The at least one gravity driven moving particle bed allows the plurality of heat-transferring particles or the plurality of sorbent particles to enter or leave the calcination chamber while restricting the flue gas from entering the calcination chamber and the released carbon dioxide particles from leaving the calcination chamber.

An alternative process and device for carrying out Fischer Tropsch (FT) syntheses is proposed, allowing the reactant entities that take part in the FT reaction to be activated and their contributions, whether by quantity or by proportion, to be adjusted. The process consists in making a particulate phase, optionally consisting of catalytic particles, flow through a reactor. While flowing through the reactor, the particulate phase is subjected at regular intervals to the action of a plasma obtained from a gas, such as hydrogen, thus enabling hydrogen activation for hydrogenation of carbon monoxide, or carbon monoxide activation in order to lengthen the carbon chains.

Device and method for preparing para-xylene and co-producing light olefins from methanol and/or dimethyl ether and benzene

A fast fluidized bed reactor, device and method for preparing para-xylene and co-producing light olefins from methanol and/or dimethyl ether and benzene, resolving or improving the competition problem between an MTO reaction and an alkylation reaction during the process of producing para-xylene and co-producing light olefins from methanol and/or dimethyl ether and benzene, and achieving a synergistic effect between the MTO reaction and the alkylation reaction. By controlling the mass transfer and reaction, competition between the MTO reaction and the alkylation reaction is coordinated and optimized to facilitate a synergistic effect of the two reactions, so that the conversion rate of benzene, the yield of para-xylene, and the selectivity of light olefins are increased.

A gas delivery system and method for delivering reactants such as a first gas through a first conduit and a second gas through at least one second conduit, for example, through a plurality of second conduits. The plurality of second conduits may each have a length, wherein at least a portion of the length is entirely disposed within the first conduit. In an implementation, the first conduit may deliver carbon monoxide and the one or more second conduits may deliver carbon monoxide doped with a catalyst such as iron pentacarbonyl. The first and second gases may be introduced into a reaction vessel such as a reactor chamber and used to form carbon nanotubes.
