Synthesis of highly ordered nanoparticle arrays in anisotropic nanoreactors
Disclosed herein are methods for forming one or more nanoparticles. The methods include depositing a solution comprising a block copolymer and a metal salt into one or more square pyramidal nanoholes formed in a substrate, and annealing the substrate to provide a single nanoparticle in each of the one or more square pyramidal nanoholes.
Polymer-supported metal nanoparticles, process for production thereof and polymeric nanoreactors produced therefrom
A process for producing polymer-supported metal nanoparticles involves confinement of metal nanoparticles in polymeric nanotubes or nanosheets in an aqueous environment using hydrophobic reactants. Metal nanoparticles supported in the polymeric nanotubes or nanosheets are substantially monodisperse and have an average particle size of 4 nm or less. The polymer-supported metal nanoparticles are useful in fuel cells, sensors, bioanalysis, biological labeling or semi-conductors, especially as catalysts.
MICROREACTOR FOR USE IN MICROSCOPY
An improved microreactor for use in microscopy, use of said microreactor, and a microscope comprising said reactor. The present invention is in the field of microscopy, specifically in the field of electron and focused ion beam microscopy (EM and FIB), and in particular Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). However its application is extendable in principle to any field of microscopy, especially wherein characteristics of a (solid) specimen (or sample) are studied in detail, such as during a reaction.
FLUIDIC DEVICES WITH REACTION WELLS AND CONSTRICTION CHANNELS AND USES THEREOF
The present disclosure provides fluidic devices and fluidic device assemblies, including microfluidic devices and cartridges comprising the same, that in illustrative embodiments, can be used to make particles or protein precipitates, or to monitor precipitate formation. The fluidic devices typically include channels that connect a reaction well to an inlet port and an outlet port, and a fluidic constriction channel that is configured to help retain fluids in the reaction well and/or promote mixing within the reaction well. In some aspect, fluidic devices are interconnected into fluidic assemblies that can be used in continuous process methods.
FLUID REACTORS
Fluid reactors include a sealed housing enclosing a reactor core that includes at least one substrate-free multichannel reactor core element. Each reactor core element is made from a non-substrate mounted, open pore cellular network material having an asymmetric, tortuous, bi-continuous two-phase material structure and contains multiple perforating fluid channels. Multiple reactor core elements can be serially and/or parallelly piped in a sealed manner to form a reactor core for a fluid reactor with a higher production capacity.
Constant shear continuous reactor device
Disclosed herein is a constant shear continuous reactor device, comprising: an annular gas delivery tube comprising a gas inlet and a gas outlet; a first annular liquid delivery tube comprising a first liquid inlet and a first liquid outlet arranged concentrically around the annular gas delivery tube along a common axis, where the first liquid outlet is located at a downstream position relative to the gas outlet or is coterminous with the gas outlet; and an annular reactor wall tube comprising a final liquid inlet, a mixing zone section and a reactor outlet, where the annular reactor wall tube is arranged concentrically around the first annular liquid delivery tube along the common axis.
GAS MICRO REACTOR UTILIZING MEMBRANE PACKAGING
Apparatuses for generation of a gas, for example chlorine dioxide, methods of forming an apparatus, and methods of use thereof are provided. The apparatus may include at least one pouch composed of a hydrophobic material and a reactant disposed within the interior of the pouch. The reactant generates a desired gas in the presence of an initiating agent.
Swellable Organically Modified Silica as Nanoreactors
The present disclosure provides methods for conducting chemical reactions and for conducting a multi-step chemical reactions using swellable organically modified silica (SOMS) as nanoreactors.
Reaction system, catalyst and method for preparing β-phenylethanol
Disclosed is a method for preparing β-phenylethanol. The method comprises the following steps: (1) reducing a catalyst in a reactor in advance; (2) introducing pre-heated hydrogen gas to warm the reactor to a predetermined temperature; and (3) introducing a raw material styrene oxide to perform a hydrogenation reaction so as to obtain the β-phenylethanol. The catalyst is Ni—Cu/Al.sub.2O.sub.3 nanosized self-assembled catalyst. The reactor is an ultrasonic field micro-packed bed reactor. The method of the present invention enables the selectivity of the β-phenylethanol to reach 99% or more.
SILICON CHIP HAVING MULTI-ZONE THROUGH SILICON VIAS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
In one embodiment, a microfluidic device has a substrate that defines a first inlet for a continuous phase fluid, a second inlet for a dispersed phase fluid, and droplet generators that can produce micro-droplets from the continuous and dispersed phase fluids. The substrate defines (i) a plurality of delivery channels in fluid communication with the first and second inlets, each delivery channel having a first dimension along a first plane that is perpendicular to a transverse direction, and (ii) a plurality of trenches that extend from the delivery channels towards the droplet generators along the transverse direction. Each trench has a second dimension along a plane that is perpendicular to the transverse direction that is smaller than the first dimension. The substrate defines a plurality of vias that extend from the trenches to the droplet generators so as to fluidly connect the delivery channels with the droplet generators.
