The contacting device for countercurrent contacting of fluid streams and having a first pair of intersecting grids of spaced-apart and parallel deflector blades and a second pair of intersecting grids of spaced-apart and parallel deflector blades. The deflector blades in each one of the grids are interleaved with the deflector blades in the paired intersecting grid and may have uncut side portions that join them together along a transverse strip where the deflector blades cross each other or adjacent opposed ends of the deflector blades and cut side portions that extend from the uncut side portions to the ends of the deflector blades. At least some of the deflector blades have directional tabs and associated openings to allow portions of the fluid streams to pass through the deflector blades to facilitate mixing of the fluid streams.

GAS-LIQUID CONTACTOR WITH PACKING FOR CAPTURING CARBON DIOXIDE

A packing for capturing carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) from a dilute includes at least one panel that includes a mesh material configured to be wetted by a CO.sub.2 capture solution and that defines a gas channel having a first dimension defined along a first direction and a second dimension defined along a second direction different than the first direction, the gas channel configured to receive a flow of CO.sub.2-laden gas from the dilute gas source in the second direction and contact the flow of CO.sub.2-laden gas with the CO.sub.2 capture solution on the mesh material.

Structured packing

The disclosure provides a structure that is used in the treatment of a fluid. The packing structure comprises a body having an axis. The packing structure also has at least one curved flow path that rotates around, and extends along at least a portion of, the axis of the body.

ABSORPTION TOWER FOR A NITRIC ACID PLANT METHOD FOR PRODUCING NITRIC ACID

An absorption tower for production of nitric acid by the Ostwald process may include sieve trays that are arranged on top of one another and each spaced apart from one another, a water inlet in an upper region of the absorption tower, an inlet for gaseous nitrogen oxides in a lower region of the absorption tower, and a column bottom that is disposed in the lower region of the absorption tower beneath a lowermost sieve tray and is divided by a dividing wall into a first, radially inner region and at least a second, radially outer region. Nitric acid that trickles down from the lowermost sieve tray with a higher concentration can be collected in a middle region. The less-concentrated nitric acid that then effluxes from sieve trays higher up can then be collected separately in a region farther outward.

DEVICE FOR PRODUCING WATER DROPLETS FOR AIR HUMIDIFICATION AND A HUMIDIFICATION SYSTEM WITH SUCH DEVICES

A humidification device (1) is shown wherein water is nebulized by a vibrating mesh with very small holes. The mesh is part of a reservoir which is fed by a valve arrangement which allows to direct water from a conduit over several water lines within the device either back to the conduit or into the reservoir. The device and a system with such devices allow to humidify and/or cool compartments such as rooms with a very fine mist of water which is hardly visually detectable. The system and device is adapted to be part of a permanent installation with low maintenance.

SATURATOR AND METHOD FOR REUSING WATER FROM A FISCHER-TROPSCH REACTOR

The present invention relates to a saturator. The present invention further relates to a method for reusing a waste water stream from a Fischer-Tropsch reactor. The invention further relates to system for recycling waste water from a Fischer-Tropsch reactor preferably within a gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant.

OPEN MESH MEMBERS AND RELATED FILL PACKS

An open mesh member for insertion into a cooling tower utilizing polluted or clean water and counterflow or crossflow airflow includes a plurality of corrugations including upper support frames, lower support frames and a wall strand. The upper and lower support frames extend at a corrugation angle relative to a height axis. The corrugations have a plurality of openings through a thickness of the mesh member. A planar edge positioned at a first end of the mesh member. A beveled edge positioned at a second end of the mesh member. The beveled edge includes a first bevel extending distally from one of the upper support frames. The bevel includes first and second legs and a distal end. The first and second legs extend substantially parallel relative to the associated upper support frame.
