The present invention relates to the CO.sub.2 and O.sub.2 remover. The CO.sub.2 and O.sub.2 remover comprises 65 to 85 weight percent (wt. %) of a nickel oxide (NiO), 5 to 20 wt. % of a magnesium oxide (MgO), wherein the weight ratio of the nickel oxide and the magnesium oxide (NiO/MgO) is 4 to 11, and wherein the wt. % is based on the weight of the CO.sub.2 and O.sub.2 remover.

CYCLIC METHOD OF PRODUCING A HYDROGEN RICH STREAM AND/OR A CARBON MONOXIDE RICH STREAM

The invention relates to a cyclic method of producing a hydrogen rich and/or a carbon monoxide rich stream using different materials, a first solid material, a second solid material and a CO.sub.2 sorbent material.

In a first step a first gas stream comprising steam and at least one reductant is brought in contact with the three materials resulting in a hydrogen rich outlet stream.

In a second step, the captured CO.sub.2 from the first step is released and converted to CO to produce a CO rich outlet stream.

The invention further relates to an installation for producing a hydrogen rich and/or carbon monoxide rich stream.

A composition is provided that has heat resistance sufficient for use as a hydrocarbon adsorbent and desorbs hydrocarbons slowly with respect to an increase in temperature. The composition includes an alkali metal and a zeolite having a YFI structure. A content of the alkali metal is 1 to 40 mass% based on a total mass of the composition, and a content of the zeolite having a YFI structure is 99 to 60 mass% based on the total mass of the composition.

BLENDED SORBENTS FOR GAS SEPARATION USING MOISTURE SWING REGENERATION

Sorptive gas separators can employ contactors having various sorbents blended together. The various sorbents used to make a blended sorbent contactor can be selected for their various physical and chemical properties, which will allow operators to customize formulations and structural configurations to obtain optimum performance of sorptive gas separators using blended sorbents.

A method to capture and utilize CO2 and an installation for capturing and utilizing CO2

The invention relates to a cyclic method for capturing and utilizing CO.sub.2 contained in a gas stream. The method uses three different materials, a first solid material, a second solid material and a CO.sub.2 sorbent material.

In a first step a first gas stream comprising CO.sub.2 and at least one reductant is brought in contact with the three materials, resulting in an outlet stream comprising water. In a second step, the captured CO.sub.2 from the first step is released and converted to CO to produce a CO rich outlet stream. The invention further relates to an installation for capturing and utilizing CO.sub.2.

Method for forming a porous activated asphaltene material

A porous activated asphaltene material is described with a method of making and a method of using for the adsorption of a contaminant from a solution. The porous activated asphaltene material may be made by functionalizing solid asphaltene with nitric acid, and then treating the product with a metal hydroxide. The resulting porous activated asphaltene material exhibits a high porosity, and may be cleaned and reused for adsorbing contaminants.

A method reduces variation of measured data when nucleic acid is separated from a very small amount of sample followed by detection of the nucleic acid, wherein the reduction of the variation is achieved by removing contaminant nucleic acid in a nucleic acid purification column. The method of separating the nucleic acid from the sample containing the nucleic acid includes bringing the sample containing the target nucleic acid into contact with a nucleic acid-binding solid-phase carrier capable of adsorbing the nucleic acid; and eluting the nucleic acid from the nucleic acid-binding solid-phase carrier to which the nucleic acid is adsorbed.
