METHODS OF ARENE ALKENYLATION
The present disclosure provides for a rhodium-catalyzed oxidative arene alkenylation from arenes and styrenes to prepare stilbene and stilbene derivatives. For example, the present disclosure provides for method of making arenes or substituted arenes, in particular stilbene and stilbene derivatives, from a reaction of an optionally substituted arene and/or optionally substituted styrene. The reaction includes a Rh catalyst or Rh pre-catalyst material and an oxidant, where the Rh catalyst or Rh catalyst formed Rh pre-catalyst material selectively functionalizes CH bond on the arene compound (e.g., benzene or substituted benzene).
Dinuclear copper catalyst for the oxidation/oxygenation of hydrocarbons
The subject invention provides synthetic compounds, and compound complexes having catalytic activities towards oxidation or oxygenation, and/or dehydrogenation of various substrates comprising C—H bonds. The catalysts of the subject invention comprise a dinuclear Cu(I)/Cu(II) center that can convert between a resting state and a reactive species. The subject invention also provides methods of using such catalysts for the oxidation of substrates comprising C—H bonds, e.g., hydrocarbons, to synthesize chemicals for use as pharmaceuticals and industrial feedstock.
Chromium Catalyst Precursor, Ethylene Oligomerization Catalyst Including the Same, and Method of Preparing Ethylene Oligomer
Provided are a chromium catalyst precursor, an ethylene oligomerization catalyst including the same, and a method of preparing an ethylene oligomer using the same. More particularly, a chromium catalyst precursor which may oligomerize ethylene with high activity and high selectivity in spite of not using methylaluminoxane (MAO) or modified-methylaluminoxane (MMAO), an oligomerization catalyst including the same, and a method of preparing an ethylene oligomer using the same are provided.

CHIRAL BINUCLEAR METAL COMPLEXES FOR STEREOSELECTIVE GLYCOSIDE HYDROLYSIS OF SACCHARIDES
Disclosed herein is a class of chiral binuclear metal complexes for stereoselective glycoside hydrolysis of saccharides, and more particular chiral binuclear transition metal complex catalysts that discriminate epimeric glycosides and α- and β-glycosidic bonds of saccharides in aqueous solutions at near physiological pHs. The chiral binuclear metal complexes include a Schiff-base-type ligand derived from a chiral diamino building block, and a binuclear transition metal core, each which can be varied for selectivity. The metal core is a Lewis-acidic metal ion, such as copper, zinc, lanthanum, iron and nickel. The Schiff-base may be a reduced or non-reduced Schiff-base derived from aliphatic linear, aliphatic cyclic diamino alcohols or aromatic aldehydes. The ligand can be a penta- or heptadentate ligand derived from pyridinecarbaldehydes, benzaldehydes, linear or cyclic diamines or diamino alcohols.
