PRODUCTION OF LOW CLOUD POINT DISTILLATE FUELS
Systems and methods are provided for catalytically dewaxing a diesel boiling range feed. In some aspects, catalytic dewaxing can be performed at low hydrogen treat gas rates and/or low hydrogen purity conditions. In other aspects, the systems and methods can allow for distillate dewaxing while reducing or minimizing the amount of equipment required.
Dewaxing using a molecular sieve catalyst
Methods are provided for using a molecular sieve catalyst for dewaxing formed using a synthesis mixture comprising a morphology modifier. The catalyst may be used, for example, for production of a lubricant base stock. For example, ZSM-48 crystals formed using the morphology modifier (and/or formulated catalysts made using such crystals) can have an increased activity and/or can provide an improved yield during catalytic dewaxing of lubricant base stocks.
METHYLPARAFFINS OBTAINED THROUGH ISOMERIZATION OF LINEAR OLEFINS AND USE THEREOF IN THERMAL MANAGEMENT
Methylparaffins having limited methyl branching may be prepared by contacting at least one linear olefin with hydrogen in the presence of a dual-function supported catalyst comprising a solid acid component and a hydrogenation component under conditions sufficient to catalytically isomerize the at least one linear olefin into an intermediate product comprising one or more branched olefins, and hydrogenating the one or more branched olefins to form an isoparaffin product comprising one or more methylparaffins. Heat transfer fluids comprising such methylparaffins may be used in various thermal management systems, such as within various systems of electric vehicles, server farms, or other locales in need of efficient heat transfer.
Catalyst system and use in heavy aromatics conversion processes

The catalyst system comprises (a) a first catalyst bed comprising a first catalyst composition, said first catalyst composition comprising a zeolite having a constraint index of 3 to 12 combined (i) optionally with at least one first metal of Group 10 of the IUPAC Periodic Table, and (ii) optionally with at least one second metal of Group 11 to 15 of the IUPAC Periodic Table; and (b) a second catalyst bed comprising a second catalyst composition, said second catalyst composition comprising (i) a meso-mordenite zeolite, combined (ii) optionally with at least one first metal of Group 10 of the IUPAC Periodic Table, and (iii) optionally with at least one second metal of Group 11 to 15 of the IUPAC Periodic Table, wherein said meso-mordenite zeolite is synthesized from TEA or MTEA and having a mesopore surface area of greater than 30 m.sup.2/g and said meso-mordenite zeolite comprises agglomerates composed of primary crystallites, wherein said primary crystallites have an average primary crystal size as measured by TEM of less than 80 nm and an aspect ratio of less than 2.
MOLECULAR SIEVE SSZ-94, CATALYST, AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
The present application pertains to family of new crystalline molecular sieves designated SSZ-94. Molecular sieve SSZ-94 is structurally similar to sieves falling within the MTT structure type such as SSZ-32x, SSZ-32, ZSM-23, EU-13, ISI-4, and KZ-1 family of molecular sieves. SSZ-94 is characterized as having magnesium.
Heavy aromatics conversion processes and catalyst compositions used therein
Disclosed are processes for conversion of a feedstock comprising C.sub.8+ aromatic hydrocarbons to lighter aromatic products in which the feedstock and optionally hydrogen are contacted in the presence of the catalyst composition under conversion conditions effective to dealkylate and transalkylate said C.sub.8+ aromatic hydrocarbons to produce said lighter aromatic products comprising benzene, toluene and xylene. The catalyst composition comprises a zeolite, a first metal, and a second metal, and is treated with a source of sulfur and/or a source of steam.
Process for preparing hydrocarbon mixture exhibiting unique branching structure
Provided herein is a unique process that prepares a saturated hydrocarbon mixture with well-controlled structural characteristics that address the performance requirements driven by the stricter environmental and fuel economy regulations for automotive engine oils. The process allows for the branching characteristics of the hydrocarbon molecules to be controlled so as to consistently provide a composition that has a surprising CCS viscosity at −35° C. (ASTM D5329) and Noack volatility (ASTM D5800) relationship. The process comprises providing a specific olefinic feedstock, oligomerizing in the presence of a BF.sub.3 catalyst, and hydroisomerizing in the presence of a noble-metal impregnated, 10-member ring zeolite catalyst.
Hydroisomerization catalysts based on Fe containing molecular sieves
The hydroisomerization of a paraffinic hydrocarbon feedstock obtained from renewable sources is effectively achieved by passing the feedstock in the presence of hydrogen over a hydroisomerization catalyst comprising a crystalline metal silicate molecular sieve, in which a portion of the crystalline framework contains iron.
CATALYST SYSTEM AND PROCESS USING SSZ-91 AND SSZ-95
An improved hydroisomerization catalyst system and process for making a base oil product using a combined catalyst system comprising SSZ-91 molecular sieve and SSZ-95 molecular sieve. The catalyst system and process generally involves the use of a catalyst comprising an SSZ-91 molecular sieve and a separate catalyst comprising an SSZ-95 molecular sieve to produce dewaxed base oil products by sequentially contacting the catalysts with a hydrocarbon feedstock. The catalyst system and process provide improved base oil yield along with other beneficial base oil properties.
