A polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) electrolytic cell assembly, and a method for making the assembly, are provided. An exemplary method includes forming a functionalized zeolite templated carbon (ZTC), including forming a CaX zeolite, depositing carbon in the CaX zeolite using a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process to form a carbon/zeolite composite, treating the carbon/zeolite composite with a solution including hydrofluoric acid to form a ZTC, and treating the ZTC to add catalyst sites, forming the functionalized ZTC. The method further includes incorporating the functionalized ZTC into electrodes, forming a membrane electrode assembly (MEA), and forming the PEM electrolytic cell assembly. The method further includes coupling the PEM electrolytic cell assembly to a heat source.
SOLID OXIDE ELECTROLYTIC CELLS USING ZEOLITE-TEMPLATED CARBON (ZTC) AS ELECTROCATALYST
Solid oxide electrolytic cell assembly (SOEC) and methods for making SOECs are provided. An exemplary method includes forming a functionalized zeolite templated carbon (ZTC). The functionalized ZTC is formed by forming a CaX zeolite, depositing carbon in the CaX zeolite using a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process to form a carbon/zeolite composite, treating the carbon/zeolite composite with a solution including hydrofluoric acid to form a ZTC, and treating the ZTC to add catalyst sites. In the method, the functionalized ZTC is incorporated into electrodes by forming a mixture of the functionalized ZTC with a calcined solid oxide electrolyte, and calcining the mixture. The method includes forming an electrode assembly, forming the SO electrolytic cell assembly, and coupling the SO electrolytic cell assembly to a heat source.
DEHYDROGENATION CATALYST

CATALYTIC UPCYCLING OF POLYOLEFINS INTO LUBRICANTS
A method of upcycling polymers to useful hydrocarbon materials. A catalyst with nanoparticles on a substrate selectively docks and cleaves longer hydrocarbon chains over shorter hydrocarbon chains. The nanoparticles exhibit an edge to facet ratio to provide for more interactions with the facets.
Method of preparing wide-temperature catalyst for preferential oxidation of carbon monoxide in hydrogen-enriched atmosphere, and product and use lthereof
This invention provides a preparation method of a catalyst for preferential oxidization of CO in a hydrogen-enriched atmosphere, and a catalyst product obtained from the method and its applications thereof. Particularly, in this invention, a wide-temperature catalyst for preferential oxidization of CO in a hydrogen-enriched atmosphere is obtained by depositing one or more of an iron oxide, cobalt oxide, and nickel oxide as a promoter onto the surface of a supported Pt-group noble metal catalyst precursor via chemical vapor deposition or atomic layer deposition. In the wide-temperature catalyst, the active noble metal component has a content of 0.1 to 10 wt %, and the promoter has a content of 0.1 to 10 wt % in terms of the metal element thereof. In the reaction of preferential oxidation of CO in a hydrogen-enriched atmosphere, the catalyst prepared by this invention can exhibit excellent catalytic performance and can achieve high conversion of CO with high selectivity in a wide temperature range of −80 to 200° C., for example. Also, the catalyst can remain stable for a long time even in a case where steam and CO.sub.2 are present in the hydrogen-enriched atmosphere.
A catalyst for propane dehydrogenation to propylene and its preparation method and application
The invention discloses a catalyst for propane dehydrogenation to propylene and a preparation method and application thereof. The catalyst comprises a support, an active component and promoters supported on the carrier. Among them, the carrier is alumina ball, the active component is platinum group metal, the promoters include three kinds: rare earth elements (Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd), tin, and alkali metal elements (Li, Na, K). When the catalyst is used for propane dehydrogenation to propylene, higher propane conversion and propylene selectivity are obtained.

Multi-sandwich composite catalyst and preparation method and application thereof
The present disclosure relates to a multi-sandwich composite catalyst and a preparation method and application thereof. The present disclosure provides a preparation method of a multi-sandwich composite catalyst, comprises the following steps: sequentially depositing a first layer oxide, a first active metal, an oxide interlayer, a second active metal and a surface oxide on a template, and sequentially performing calcination and reduction, thereby obtaining a multi-sandwich composite catalyst; wherein the first active metal and the second active metal are different kinds of active metals. In the present disclosure, a multi-sandwich structure is formed by depositing the oxides and active metals alternately, so that the position and spacing distance of the active centers can be precisely controlled. The multi-sandwich composite catalyst prepared by the method provided described herein has a higher conversion than that of a catalyst without an interlayer when used for the catalytic reaction.
