Method for manufacturing photocatalytic filter for air purification
Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a photocatalytic filter for air purification. The present manufacturing method comprises the steps of: oxidizing a titanium metal to obtain a nanostructured titanium dioxide (TiO2); adding the nanostructured titanium dioxide to an acidic fluorine-containing solution to allow a reaction to occur therebetween for a predetermined period of time; and, after treatment in the acidic fluorine-containing solution, performing heat treatment on the nanostructured titanium dioxide.
Method and Composition For Reducing Nitrates, Nitrites, and/or Hydroxylamine in Water Using a Homogeneous Reduced Copper Tetra-Substituted Fluorinated Pinacolate Ligand Catalyst Complex
A method for reducing nitrates, nitrites, and/or hydroxylamine in water using a homogeneous reduced copper tetra-substituted fluorinated pinacolate ligand catalyst complex. The method includes dissolving a copper(II) tetra-substituted fluorinated pinacolate ligand pre-catalyst complex in water having an excess amount of nitrates, nitrites, and/or hydroxylamine therein. The dissolved copper(II) tetra-substituted fluorinated pinacolate ligand pre-catalyst complex in the water is subjected to electrochemical reduction to form a homogeneous reduced copper tetra-substituted fluorinated pinacolate ligand catalyst complex. The homogeneous reduced copper tetra-substituted fluorinated pinacolate ligand catalyst complex reduces the nitrates, nitrites, and/or hydroxylamine in the water to compounds with nitrogen in a lower oxidation state with the homogeneous reduced copper tetra-substituted fluorinated pinacolate ligand catalyst complex.
PULSED ELECTROCHEMICAL DEPOSITION OF ORDERED INTERMETALLIC CARBON COMPOSITES
Metastable alloys have recently emerged as high-performance catalysts, extending the toolbox of binary alloy materials that can be utilized to mediate electrocatalytic reactions. In particular, nanostructured metastable ordered intermetallic compounds are particularly challenging to synthesize. Here the present invention is directed to a method for synthesizing sub-15 nm metastable ordered intermetallic Pd31Bi12 nanoparticles at room temperature, in a single step, by pulsed electrochemical deposition onto high surface area carbon supports. The resulting Pd31Bi12 nanoparticles displays a 7× enhancement of the mass activity relative to Pt/C and a 4× enhancement relative to Pd/C for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). The high performance of Pd31Bi12 nanoparticles is demonstrated to arise from reduced oxygen binding caused by alloying of Pd with Bi. The isolation of Pd-sites from each other facilitate methanol tolerant ORR behavior.

Heat exchange reactors including the catalyst composition and methods for heating a heat exchange medium are also provided. Catalytic combustors including a catalytic surface including the catalyst composition are further provided. The catalyst is adapted for low temperature activation of a hydrogen combustion reaction.
Carbon-doped nickel oxide catalyst and methods for making and using thereof
A catalyst composition including nickel foam and a plurality of carbon-doped nickel oxide nanorods disposed on the nickel foam.
COBALT CATALYST AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
A cobalt catalyst and a preparation method thereof are provided. The cobalt catalyst includes a carrier and a catalytically active substance; the carrier is a cobalt-based substrate material; the catalytically active substance is grown on the surface of the carrier, and the catalytically active substance has a morphology of hydrangea-shaped nanospheres. The cobalt catalyst is an autogenously grown monolithic nanosphere catalyst with a three-dimensional structure assembled by nano-sheets on the catalyst surface. The cobalt catalyst has a high specific surface area and can fully expose the catalytically active sites to enhance the catalytic efficiency. Compared to a nanowire catalyst, the cobalt catalyst has better self-supporting properties, and the active components are not easily aggregated nor fall off during a use process. Therefore, the cobalt catalyst has a longer service life.
Universal One-Step Method to Make Fe-Based (Oxy)Hydroxides as Efficient OER Catalysts for Seawater Electrolysis
A method for ambient-temperature synthesis of a catalyst for water electrolysis by dissolving an amount of an Fe.sup.2+ source and optionally an amount of a salt of another divalent cation in deionized water at ambient temperature to form a solution, placing nickel (Ni) foam into the solution, whereby the Ni foam serves as a substrate and/or a Ni source for growth of the catalyst, leaving the Ni foam in the solution at ambient temperature for a time duration in a range of from about 0.5 hour to about 4 hours to provide a treated foam, during which time duration, the catalyst is grown on the substrate, and removing the treated foam from the solution after the time duration, wherein the treated foam comprises the catalyst grown thereon.
Low-platinum catalyst based on nitride nanoparticles and preparation method thereof
The present invention discloses a low-platinum catalyst based on nitride nanoparticles and a preparation method thereof. A component of an active metal of the catalyst directly clades on a surface of nitride particles or a surface of nitride particles loaded on a carbon support in an ultrathin atomic layer form. Preparation steps including: preparing a transition-metal ammonia complex first, nitriding the obtained ammonia complex solid under an atmosphere of ammonia gas to obtain nitride nanoparticles; loading the nitride nanoparticles on a surface of a working electrode, depositing an active component on a surface of the nitride nanoparticles by pulsed deposition, to obtain the low platinum loading catalyst using a nitride as a substrate. The catalyst may be used as an anode or a cathode catalyst of a low temperature fuel cell, has very high catalytic activity and stability, can greatly reduce a usage amount of a precious metal in the fuel cell, and greatly reduces a cost of the fuel cell. The present invention has important characteristics of being controllable in deposition amount, simple and convenient to operate, free of protection of inert atmosphere, and etc., and is suitable for large-scale industrial production.
