Processes for converting aromatic hydrocarbons using passivated reactor
This disclosure provides improved processes for converting aromatic hydrocarbons, such as benzene/toluene, alkylation, transalkylation, or isomerization. In an embodiment, a process comprises utilizing a passivated reactor to reduce deactivation of a molecular sieve catalyst. Additional measures such as the use of an auxiliary catalyst and/or an elevated reactor pressure may be used to further reduce deactivation of the molecular sieve catalyst.
Catalytic pyrolysis of polystyrene into aromatic rich liquid product using spherical catalyst
The present invention provides a process of catalytic depolymerization of polystyrene involving a spherical catalyst, an apparatus for carrying out the depolymerization, recovering the aromatic rich liquid product and recycling the catalyst without any decrease in the catalytic performance. Further, the present invention provides that the aromatic rich liquid product includes styrene, xylene, benzene, ethyl benzene, with styrene content greater than 65%. Additionally, the catalyst involved in the depolymerization process is a spherical catalyst that is easily recovered from coke/char formed during the process and is recycled and reused without any decrease in the catalytic performance.
PEPTIDE SYNTHESIS AND SYSTEM THEREOF
Processes and systems related to solid phase peptide synthesis are described. The processes include a flow-through process comprising cyclic addition of amino acids to a column packed with resin, wherein each cycle includes the combination of the amino acids with one or more reagents to provide an activated amino acid mixture, and wherein heating is applied to the amino acid(s) before they are passed through the column and wherein the amino acids are re-circulated at least once over the column packed with resin. Systems for such processes are also described.
Method of preheating dehydrogenation reactor feed
Methods and systems for heating a reactor feed in a multi reactor hydrocarbon dehydrogenation process. The methods and systems are advantageously employed for the production of styrene by the catalytic dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene. The catalytic dehydrogenation process employs heating steam operating at a steam to oil ratio of about 1.0 or less and relatively low steam superheater furnace temperature, such that all components exposed to steam in the process (outside of the fired heaters) can be constructed with standard metallurgy.
Chemical reaction apparatus
In order to provide a chemical reaction apparatus that can suppress a situation where microwaves are concentrated on a partial portion in a reactor, and that can more uniformly irradiate a content with the microwaves, a chemical reaction apparatus includes: a horizontal flow-type reactor in which a liquid content horizontally flows with an unfilled space being provided thereabove; a microwave generator that generates microwaves; and a waveguide that transmits the microwaves generated by the microwave generator to the unfilled space in the reactor, wherein a top of the reactor is curved with respect to a flow direction of the content.
DEVICE FOR RADIAL SEPARATION IN SIMULATED MOVING BED
The present invention relates to a device, a column and a method for radial separation or reaction, wherein the adsorption chamber (9) has a charging height (H3) greater than the height of the distribution duct (6) and the height of the collecting duct (8), and the upper wall (2) of the adsorption chamber (9) comprises at least one inlet (16) for washing solvent.
COMPOUND ANNULAR NON-THERMAL PLASMA REACTOR CORE
A non-thermal plasma reactor system having an outer member; a non-thermal plasma inner member sleeve disposed within the outer member, the non-thermal plasma inner member sleeve having an central core volume, the non-thermal plasma inner member sleeve being smaller than the outer member to define an annular volume there between, the non-thermal plasma inner member sleeve having an inner surface boundary and an outer surface boundary to define a sleeve volume there between, the inner surface boundary and the outer surface boundary being permeable and configured to permit airflow between the annular volume and the central core volume; dielectric material being disposed within the sleeve volume; and at least one electrode extending within the sleeve volume and another electrode coupled to the inner sleeve member generating the non-thermal plasma contacting the airflow as it flows between the annular volume and the central core volume.
