A reactor for accommodating high contaminant feedstocks includes a reactor vessel having an inlet for introducing a feedstock containing contaminants into an interior of the reactor vessel. A basket is located within the reactor vessel interior and contains a particulate material for removing contaminants from the feedstock to form a purified feedstock that is discharged to a purified feedstock outlet. A catalyst is located within the reactor vessel and in fluid communication with the purified feedstock outlet of the basket for contacting the purified feedstock to form a desired product.
PROCESS AND REACTOR FOR CATALYTIC OXIDATION OF AMMONIA
A process for the catalytic oxidation of ammonia, comprising: passing an ammonia-containing gas, in the presence of oxygen, over a catalyst contained in a reactor, obtaining a process gas containing nitrogen oxides, and cooling said process gas with a heat exchanger accommodated in the reactor, wherein a portion of said process gas, located in the shell side, bypasses the heat exchanger and forms a hot current which mixes with cooled gas downstream the heat exchanger, and the bypass is regulated on the basis of a target outlet temperature of the mixed process gas.

Processes and systems for the conversion of acyclic hydrocarbons to cyclopentadiene
This invention relates to processes and systems for converting acyclic hydrocarbons to alkenes, cyclic hydrocarbons and/or aromatics, for example converting acyclic C.sub.5 hydrocarbons to cyclopentadiene in a reactor system. The process includes heating an electrically-conductive reaction zone by applying an electrical current to the first electrically-conductive reaction zone; and contacting a feedstock comprising acyclic hydrocarbons with a catalyst material in the electrically-conductive reaction zone under reaction conditions to convert at least a portion of the acyclic hydrocarbons to an effluent comprising alkenes, cyclic hydrocarbons, and/or aromatics.
Ammonia synthesis system and method
In one embodiment, an ammonia synthesis system comprising, an ammonia synthesis reactor, a waste heat boiler, a supply water heat exchanger, a recycle gas heat exchanger, a water cooler, an ammonia chiller and refrigeration exchanger, a secondary ammonia chiller, an ammonia separator, a liquid ammonia tank, a recycle compressor and a start-up heater, and wherein, a process gas is heated in the recycle gas heat exchanger and enters the ammonia synthesis reactor and the waste heat boiler, a reacted gas stream exits from a bottom of the waste heat boiler and is cooled in the supply water heat exchanger, a gas stream enters the recycle gas heat exchanger, the water cooler, the ammonia chiller and refrigeration exchanger, the secondary ammonia chiller, and is cooled, the gas stream enters the ammonia separator to form a separate liquid ammonia and the separated liquid ammonia enters the liquid ammonia tank.
AN INTENSIFIED PROCESS OF SYNTHESIS OF DIALKYL ETHERS USING A STEP CONICAL REACTOR
The present invention relates to an intensification of the synthetic process for the preparation of dialkyl ether from alcohol by using a conical fixed bed reactor integrated with distillation coupled conical polishing reactor.
SYSTEM FOR IONIC LIQUID CATALYST REGENERATION
Systems, reactors, and processes for regenerating ionic liquid using catalyst. A plurality of tubular reactors are provided having a first end and a second end and catalyst particles disposed in the tubular reactor between the first end and the second end. A line supplies separated ionic liquid catalyst to the first end of the tubular reactor. Hydrogen is also supplied. Regenerated ionic liquid catalyst is recovered from the second end of the tubular reactor. The inner surface of the tubular reactor is preferably non-corrosive or non-reactive. A fluoropolymer lining may be used. The tubular reactors are modular, and may be changed out with the catalyst inside when the catalyst are to be replaced.
