In accordance with one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a multi-stage process for upgrading pyrolysis oil comprising polyaromatic compounds to benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) includes upgrading the pyrolysis oil in a slurry-phase reactor zone to produce intermediate products, wherein the slurry-phase reactor zone comprises a mixed metal oxide catalyst; and hydrocracking the intermediate products in a fixed-bed reactor zone to produce the BTEX, wherein the fixed-bed reactor zone comprises a mesoporous zeolite-supported metal catalyst.
Process for performing a pyrolysis of hydrocarbons in an indirectly heated rotary drum reactor
A process can be used for performing a pyrolysis of hydrocarbons in a rotary drum reactor at a temperature in the range of from 600 to 1800° C. The heat for the endothermic pyrolysis is provided by resistive heating of at least one particulate electrically conductive material introduced into said rotary drum reactor and moved through the rotary drum reactor with a flow of a hydrocarbon. The rotary drum reactor contains (A) an inner wall made of electrically insulated material, (B) a pressure-bearing outer wall, and (C) an electrical heating system attached to the inner wall and/or at least one integrated electrically conducting electrode pair. The at least one electrode pair is located at both ends of the inner wall of the rotary drum.
Using converted hydrogen and solid carbon from captured methane to power wellbore equipment
Green hydrogen and solid carbon can be produced by reacting captured methane with a catalyst in a reaction chamber. A liquid base fluid can form a continuous phase within the reaction chamber with a plurality of liquid metal carrier droplets dispersed in the base fluid. The catalyst can be nano-sized particles that can coat the surfaces of the carrier droplets. Agitation can be supplied to the reaction chamber to maintain dispersion of the liquid metal carrier droplets and increase contact of the methane and catalyst particles. The reaction temperature can be less than the temperature required for water electrolysis or steam methane reforming processes. The green hydrogen and solid carbon can be used as a power source for wellsite equipment in the form of fuel cells to generate electricity or power or used to charge batteries.

Carbon compound manufacturing system and method of controlling carbon compound manufacturing system
A carbon compound manufacturing system includes: a recovery unit; a conversion unit; a synthesis unit; a first flow path to supply the supply gas to the recovery unit; a second flow path connecting the recovery and the conversion units; a third flow path connecting the conversion and the synthesis units; at least one of first to third detectors to respectively measure a flow rate of the supply gas flowing through the first flow path to generate a first data signal, a flow rate of the carbon dioxide flowing through the second flow path to generate a second data signal, and a value of voltage or current to the conversion unit to generate a third data signal; and an integration controller to collate at least one data of the first to third data signals with a corresponding plan data to generate at least one of first to third control signals.
HYDROGEN PRODUCTION FROM HYDROCARBONS WITHOUT CARBON DIOXIDE EMISSIONS
A method for thermal cracking of a hydrocarbon to produce hydrogen gas and carbon comprises heating a molten medium to an operating temperature sufficient to thermally crack the hydrocarbon. The operating temperature may, for example be in the range of 600° C. to 1100° C. The method mixes the hydrocarbon into the heated molten medium and pumping the mixed molten medium and hydrocarbon through a reactor. In the reactor, the hydrocarbon undergoes a thermal cracking reaction which forms hydrogen gas and carbon black. The method separates the carbon and hydrogen gas from the molten medium that has passed through the reactor. In some embodiments, the flow of the molten medium in the reactor is a turbulent flow.
Device comprising lateral injections of liquid for limiting the phenomena of solid deposits in items of equipment with a conical bottom
A device for the descending flow of a hydrocarbon-containing liquid containing solid particles at the bottom of an item of equipment (1) and a process for the conversion of hydrocarbon-containing feedstocks implementing said device.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR HYDROGEN PRODUCTION BY DEHYDROGENATION OF FORMIC ACID
The system includes a reactor vessel having a reactor space bound by a reactor wall. The reactor vessel is arranged for holding a mixture of a catalyst and formic acid in the reactor space. The reactor vessel includes a mixture inflow opening for allowing the mixture to enter the reactor space and a mixture outflow opening for allowing said mixture to exit the reactor space, and a gas outflow opening for allowing hydrogen originating from the mixture to exit the reactor space. A method for hydrogen production includes: providing the formic acid and the catalyst into the reactor space; withdrawing the mixture from the reactor space; heating and/or cooling the mixture to a predetermined temperature range outside the reactor space; and introducing the heated and/or cooled mixture into the reactor space in a predetermined direction having a tangential component arranged for stirring said mixture in the reactor space.
