Device for synthesizing oligonucleotides
The invention relates to a device for synthesising oligonucleotides, comprising: a reagent container receptacle (1) for holding a reagent container support (17) comprising multiple reagent containers (18); an exchangeable microfluid chip (10) comprising a synthesis chamber, fluid connectors and microfluid valves; a control device (5); fluid connecting means (2); wherein the device can be loaded with the microfluid chip (10) and the reagent container support (17) when in a loading position; a chip receptacle (3). To allow cost-effective and prompt synthesis even of small amounts of oligonucleotides, the invention provides for an actuator device (6) to be provided, with which the reagent container receptacle (1), the microfluid chip (10) and the fluid connecting means (2) can be brought from the loading position to an operating position, in which operating position the reagent container receptacle (1), the chip receptacle (3) and the fluid connecting means (2) are positioned relative to each other such that reagents can be conveyed out of the reagent containers (18) towards the synthesis chamber (14) depending on the valve position of the microfluid valves.
TEST STRIP CONTAINER AND TEST STRIP DISCHARGING MECHANISM
A test strip container includes: an accommodating member in which a test strip is accommodated; a moving member moving the test strip therein; a door member opening and closing at a side surface of the accommodating member to discharge the test strip out of the accommodating member, and cutting the interior and the exterior of the accommodating member off from each other when closed; a door accommodating portion covering the door member, in which the door member can open and close; and a discharge opening cutting the interior and an exterior of the door accommodating portion off from each other when closed, and is provided at the door accommodating portion so as to open and close to discharge the test strip to the exterior of the door accommodating portion, the discharge opening being able to open when the accommodating member is closed by the door member.
MERCURY VAPOR REFERENCE
Mercury vapor reference systems, devices, and method for testing mercury vapor analyzers. A variable volume dilution chamber such as a syringe selectively receives mercury vapor and a dilution gas to dilute the mercury vapor prior to dispensing into an airflow for testing by the mercury vapor analyzer.
Headspace Eliminating Microtiter Plate Lid
A microtiter plate assembly is disclosed that includes a base having a plurality of wells and a lid having a plurality of projections corresponding to the plurality of wells. Each projection contains a radial notch and a canted distal tip, providing bubble free sealing, reduced oxygen back-diffusion, and increased sensitivity even at small sample volumes.
Sample cooling device, autosampler provided with the same, and sample cooling method
There are provided a sample cooling device capable of effectively removing moisture in the air inside an accommodating chamber where a sample container is accommodated, and of preventing a problem caused by occurrence of frost, an autosampler provided with the same, and a sample cooling method. A first driving process of setting a set temperature of a dehumidifier section to at or below the freezing point, and a second driving process of stopping driving of the dehumidifier section or of raising the set temperature of the dehumidifier section to above the freezing point after the first driving process is performed over a predetermined period of time are performed. Thus, the set temperature of the dehumidifier section may be made to at or below the freezing point by the first driving process, and moisture in the air inside the accommodating chamber may be made to temporarily attach to the dehumidifier section as frost and then be melted by the second driving process and be collected as water.
System to control the local humidity of a sample during manipulation under a microscope and subsequent transfer to an analytical instrument
An adaptor to help control local humidity of a sample includes a delivery port having a first side and a second side, opposite the first side. The first side includes an opening that is to be connected to a fluid source. The second side includes a sidewall. A platform extends from the sidewall. A vial holder is connected to the sidewall. A portion of the sidewall is absent above the platform to allow manipulation of the sample.
Proximal degas driven microfluidic actuation
An apparatus with a self-contained, tunable, microfluidic pumping system that utilizes the high air permeability of the matrix material to actuate fluid flow in a network of fluidic microchannels and microstructures is provided. The pumping relies upon partial evacuation of degas/vacuum channels that are located next to the fluid channels to degas air from the fluid channels or structures producing a reduction of pressure in the fluidic channel leading to the flow of fluid from an inlet at atmospheric pressure through the device. The solution is isolated from the pumping apparatus since the liquid does not pass through the diffusion barriers. The apparatus and method can also provide bubble-free microfluidic pumping, without any auxiliary equipment or device pre-treatment, and can fill dead-end channels and chambers, providing a powerful liquid handling tool for a broad range of applications.
SAFETY CABINET
A safety cabinet has a second operation chamber in a first operation chamber and into which clean air is supplied, a second suction opening for sucking in air in the second operation chamber and a portion of the air in the first operation chamber, and a second operation opening part that is provided facing a first operation opening part and communicates the second operation chamber with the first operation chamber. Airflow containment (air barrier) is doubled with respect to the outside of a safety cabinet. In cases where decontamination and disinfection operations are carried out according to the changeover procedures, intensive decontamination and disinfection of the second operation chamber is sufficient, and decontamination and disinfection of the first operation chamber is hardly required. Decontamination and disinfection operations in the changeover procedures and the like can be carried out in a greatly reduced time.
Microfluidic device for investigation of distance dependent interactions in cell biology
The invention presents a microfluidic device that provides investigation of distance dependent interactions between cells and various factors. A method that uses the device to determine distance dependent interactions between cells and various factors and agents that can change these interactions is also presented.
DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR PRESERVING ANALYTES IN BLOOD SAMPLES DURING STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
Freshly obtained blood samples are deposited into a device that contains blood sample carriers, each of the carriers is designed to hold a fixed amount of blood and allow excess blood sample to flow through and be discarded. A desiccant within the blood sample carrier aids with the drying of the blood and the discarding of the excess sample blood. The device is stored/transported within a modified atmosphere package comprised of an impermeable sealable bag and an oxygen scavenger compound for removing oxygen from the bag.
