Method of handling laboratory sample containers by a laboratory sample container handling system, a laboratory sample container handling system, and a laboratory automation system
A method of handling laboratory sample containers by a laboratory sample container handling system is presented. The method comprises providing a laboratory sample container comprising an assigned ID information to the laboratory sample container handling system, reading the assigned ID information, checking, if the read ID information is unique or not unique within the laboratory sample container handling system, and if the read ID information (2) is not unique within the laboratory sample container handling system, assigning a new ID information to the laboratory sample container. The new ID information is unique within the laboratory sample container handling system.
INTEGRATED WORKFLOW FOR PROCESSING TISSUE SAMPLES FROM BREAST BIOPSY PROCEDURES
A method of obtaining and analyzing at least one tissue sample includes forming, in a tissue container, first tracking data associated with the at least one tissue sample. Second tracking data is formed, in a transport container. The second tracking data is associated with the at least one tissue sample. The at least one tissue sample is placed in the tissue container. The first and second tracking data from the tissue container and the transport container are scanned with an electronic scanning system to ensure that the first and second tracking data are both associated with the removed tissue sample.
SOURCE CONTROLLED DECODABLE MICROARRAY SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR USE
A system and methods for consumer use of a microarray product are provided. A method includes obtaining a microarray product and contacting the microarray product with a sample and performing bioassays. The method further includes obtaining a decoding information data package from a manufacturer of the microarray product for correlating bioassay signals from the bioassays with respective analytes, wherein the microarray product is obtained at a first time different and discrete from a second time that the decoding information data package is obtained.
Portable device for in situ genetic analyses
A device for performing in situ genetic analyses, conformed so as to be transportable manually by a user, which comprises a casing defining an internal compartment and a plurality of analysis units arranged in the internal compartment, where each analysis unit is configured to perform a respective and independent genetic analysis of at least one sample; each analysis unit comprises a sample holder compartment accessible by the user and adapted to accommodate at least one sample; a command and control unit; at least one sensor selected among an optical, acceleration, temperature, pressure, motion, chemical sensor or a combination thereof, configured to detect a first physical quantity relative to the genetic analysis of the at least one sample and to transduce the first physical quantity into a first signal which is indicative of the state of progress of the genetic analysis, the command and control unit is in signal communication with the at least one sensor for receiving said first signal; the analysis unit further comprises a plurality of instruments, configured to perform the genetic analysis of the sample, comprising an amplification and optical detection device configured to detect at least a second physical quantity relative to the genetic analysis and to transduce the second physical quantity into at least a second signal which is indicative of the outcome of the genetic analysis, the command and control unit is in signal communication with the amplification and optical detection device for receiving said second signal; the device further comprises a processing unit, in signal communication with the command and control unit of each analysis unit for receiving the respective first signals and the respective second signals.
Device for use in fluid sample analysis
The present invention relates to a device (10) for use in fluid sample analysis. It is described to position (310) a top part (20) of the device (10) adjacent to a base part (30) of the device so as to define a fluidic receiving region in between, the top part being provided with a through opening fluidly connected to the fluidic receiving region, and the bottom part being provided with a radiation window adjacent to the fluidic receiving region. A fluidic sample is supplied (320) through the opening (24). The fluidic sample is moved laterally (330) in the fluid receiving region without the use of an intermediary membrane between the top part and the base part. A radiation is emitted (340) to the fluid receiving region. A radiation is detected (350) that is reflected by the device. A presence of the fluidic sample is determined (360) on the basis of a measured reflectance value based on the detected radiation.
Systems and Methods for Multianalyte Detection
Provided herein are systems, devices and methods for performing multianalyte detection in a biological sample, such as a human blood sample. Multiwell plates useful for performing multianalyte detection are also provided. The systems, devices and methods provided herein relate to the field of direct-to-consumer diagnostics (DTC diagnostics) and are useful, e.g., for facilitating consumer access to consumer healthcare and consumer wellness information. Other uses of the systems, devices and methods provided herein relate to the fields of medical research and drug discovery.
Systems and methods for reading machine-readable marks on racks and receptacles
A method of reading machine-readable marks on a movable support and object of a sample instrument. The method includes capturing a first image of the moveable support as the moveable support moves from a first position to a second position using an image capture device; determining whether a first fiducial machine-readable mark on the moveable support is in the first image; determining, when the first fiducial machine-readable mark is in the first image, whether a first machine-readable mark on a first object coupled to the moveable support is in the first image at a predetermined position relative to the first fiducial machine-readable mark; and associating information decoded from the first machine-readable mark on the first object with a first location on the moveable support associated with the first fiducial machine-readable mark.
