Conditioning, biotreatment and composting of construction and demolition debris fines

A method of valuation of raw fines materials, comprising selectively screening, biotreatment or composting of raw fines materials or selection as fillers in composites. The method comprises screening the raw fines materials to Grade 1 comprising fines materials of a size of at most about 5 mm and Grade 2 comprising fines materials of a size larger than about 5 mm; and at least one of: A) bio-oxydating organic contaminants of the Grade 1; by adding and mixing organic amendment under controlled temperature, nutrients content and water content conditions and monitoring a content of organic contaminants until the content of organic contaminants stops decreasing; and B) composting the Grade 1; by adding and mixing organic amendment under controlled temperature, nutrients content and water content conditions, and monitoring pathogens content and respiration rate; and stopping the addition of organic amendment upon detection of absence of pathogens at a predetermined respiration rate.

A FEEDING DEVICE AND A PLANT FOR RECLAIMING CONCRETE RESIDUES

A feeding device for feeding a separation apparatus, the separation apparatus being suitable for separating aggregates from concrete residues in order to reclaim said aggregates, comprises: a tank for containing a fluid comprising a liquid in which the aggregates to be reclaimed are dispersed; a main screw conveyor for collecting said fluid from a collecting zone of the tank and conveying the liquid and the aggregates contained in said fluid towards the separation apparatus; at least one auxiliary screw conveyor positioned along a bottom surface of the tank for conveying the fluid towards said collecting zone.

Production of alternative supplemental cementitious material from uncured concrete made with Portland cement
11325135 · 2022-05-10 ·

A method and apparatus for producing liquified Alternative Supplemental Cementitious Material (ASCM) from an uncured concrete slurry. Uncured concrete slurry is received into a receiving hopper, diluted with water, and pumped upward through a slurry discharge conduit to an aggregate separator that screens the gravel and sand for separate discharge. The remaining ASCM entrained water flows into a holding tank. The ASCM settles to the lower portion of the holding tank. The holding tank stores the remaining water for re-use diluting uncured concrete slurry. The ASCM is liquified and moved towards the ASCM discharge port by an agitator system located in the bottom of the holding tank. From the discharge, a pump delivers the liquified ASCM through a conduit for discharge. The discharged ASCM can be used as a partial replacement for Ordinary Portland Cement and as an ingredient in flowable fills.

Gypsum Washer

A gypsum washer includes a rotating trommel receiving raw material and a flow of water, and having paddles tilted to reduce impacts of the gypsum passing through the trommel while still providing a washing action. Bentonite separates from the gypsum in the trommel, liquifies, and is released through a mesh screen at the end of the trommel separating from the gypsum. The gypsum is released from the trommel into a water fed trough, scooped from the trough, and released into a storage area. The liquified bentonite is carried by a water flow into one or more settlement tanks, and recovered for use.

Slurry handling apparatus

A slurry handling apparatus includes at least one reception hopper includes a base, a rear wall and opposing side walls, and an opening provided in the base. Slurry delivered into the reception hopper from a tanker can pass through the opening in the base, and a respective first dewatering screen having an apertured screening deck is located beneath the at least one reception hopper so that slurry passing through the opening is delivered onto the deck of the respective screen, with undersize material and water passing through the apertures of the deck to be received within a sump, and with oversize material passing over the deck to be discharged from a downstream end of the deck.

CONCRETE SLUDGE RECYCLING AND RECOVERING METHOD

The concrete sludge recycling and recovering method comprises a concrete sludge treatment step consisting in separating aggregates, contained in the concrete sludge, from the water loaded with laitance contained in the concrete sludge; a clarification and dewatering step consisting in clarifying the water loaded with laitance which has been separated during the concrete sludge treatment step and dewatering the laitance contained in the water loaded with laitance; a first use step consisting in using the separated aggregates as raw material for concrete manufacturing; and a second use step consisting in using at least part of the clarified water resulting from the clarification and dewatering step as a raw material for concrete manufacturing.

Concrete Residue Collection System For Concrete Mixing Trucks
20220250280 · 2022-08-11 ·

The present invention relates to a new method and system for reclaiming and recycling the concrete residue that remains on key components of a concrete mixing truck in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. Any slurry aggregate remaining on the chutes or other parts of the concrete mixing truck is collected by a concrete collection system that is attached to the concrete mixing truck and includes an augur conveyor enclosed in a housing, whereby the augur conveyor is hydraulically extended either behind or in front of the chutes of the concrete mixing truck depending on a type of mixing truck. The augur conveyor can be raised to a maximum height in order to discharge any collected slurry aggregate from the chutes or other parts of the truck back into a top hopper of the concrete truck to be directed back into the mixing drum of the concrete mixing truck.
