A cyclone unit is for separating liquid and particles from a suction flow. A main flow inlet to the outer housing of the cyclone unit includes an opening. The transition between the main flow inlet and the outer housing at this opening has, at least for a portion of the opening, a radius of curvature of at least 0.5 mm. The large radius of curvature prevents the formation of static water drops.

A wet vacuum cleaner uses a cyclone unit for separating liquid and particles from a suction flow. A main flow inlet to a cyclone chamber is spaced internally from its respective end by a separation distance. The separation distance is at least 0.1 times (effective/equivalent) diameter of the main flow inlet, which assists in preventing formation of large droplets which follows a path to a main flow outlet.

This invention relates to a process and apparatus for growing agricultural products with a reduced abundance of radioactive carbon-14 (.sup.14C) by employing centrifugal separation of atmospheric gases to selectively remove carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) with .sup.14C. A uniflow cyclone for a hand vacuum cleaner has a dirt chamber that is external to the cyclone chamber and vortex finder, which has a solid portion that is spaced from and faces a dirt outlet of the cyclone chamber and a porous section that is angularly spaced around the cyclone axis of rotation of the cyclone from the solid portion.

A cyclone for a hand vacuum cleaner has an outlet port that is sized to produce an annular flow band in the cyclone which extends radially inwardly to overlap the solid sidewall of the vortex finder.

A hand vacuum cleaner comprises a cyclone, a conical pre-motor filter that is positioned rearward of the cyclone and a suction motor. The pre-motor filter has a front end that faces towards the cyclone air outlet. The conical pre-motor filter has an open interior volume, an outer surface, which is an upstream surface of the pre-motor filter, and an inner surface, which is a downstream surface of the pre-motor filter.

The cleaner includes a suction inlet configured to guide air and dusts, a main body including a first cyclone unit configured to separate the air and the dusts, which are suctioned through the suction inlet, from each other, and a dust separation module separably connected to the main body and including a second cyclone unit configured to separate the dusts from the air discharged from the first cyclone unit.

The present invention refers to an accelerating cyclone that separates solid particles, comprising in its general structure a lower conical body (1) (17A and 17B), comprising a lower opening (18), a central cylindrical body (2) immediately above the conical body (1) whose diameter is smaller than the largest diameter of the conical body cone (1), and a third upper, also cylindrical, body (3) of smaller diameter than the diameter of the central cylindrical body (2), comprising a side opening for the acceleration air output (5); where the cylindrical central body (2) allows to accelerate the speed of the solid material particles and is the cyclone pressure chamber; and where said cylindrical central body (2) comprises a side opening for the acceleration air input (8) and at least one duct (9).

A vacuum unit includes a debris tank receiving wet or dry waste. A multi-cyclone separator is coupled to an outlet of the debris tank. The multi-cyclone separator receives the wet or dry waste from the debris tank and the multi-cyclone separator includes a plurality of cyclones. A filter is coupled to the outlet of the multi-cyclone separator and receives exhaust airflow from the multi-cyclone which then flows onto the blower or fan and is vented external to the vacuum unit.
