HYDRO-CYCLONE SYSTEM
A system for purifying a fibrous suspension consists of multiple hydro-cyclones arranged adjacent to one another in a row, each of the hydro-cyclones having at least one feed connection, one accepted stock connection and one reject material connection, and having at least one supply manifold which is connected to multiple feed connections and/or having at least one accepted stock manifold which is connected to multiple accepted stock connections and/or having at least one reject material manifold which is connected to multiple reject material connections, the manifold being elongated and the corresponding connections discharge at their longitudinal side into the corresponding manifold. At an end of at least one manifold which follows the final hydro-cyclone, a fluid or a suspension is guided via at least one flushing connection into or out of the manifold.
Process and apparatus to remove carbon-14 from carbon-dioxide in atmospheric gases and agricultural products grown in controlled environments
This invention relates to a process and apparatus for growing agricultural products with a reduced abundance of radioactive carbon-14 (.sup.14C) by employing centrifugal separation of atmospheric gases to selectively remove carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) with .sup.14C. Agricultural products with reduced .sup.14C content can be grown in controlled environments with filtered atmospheric gases for the benefit of reducing harmful damage to human DNA that is unavoidable with our current food chain, due to the natural abundance of .sup.14C in atmospheric gases. Bilateral and unilateral compression helikon vortex apparatus provide efficient and economical removal of CO.sub.2 with .sup.14C from atmospheric gases with a single filtration pass, which is ideally suited for large scale agricultural production.

Configuration of a cyclone assembly and surface cleaning apparatus having same
A cyclone separator useable in a surface cleaning apparatus comprises a cyclone chamber and a dirt collection chamber exterior to, and surrounding at least a portion of the cyclone chamber. The dirt collection chamber is in communication with the cyclone chamber via a dirt outlet. An air flow passage extending to the cyclone air inlet travels generally axially through the dirt collection chamber.

Vortex separation device for a fluid transfer circuit
The invention relates to a vortex degassing device (1) for a fluid transfer circuit (F1, F2), in particular of a motor vehicle, this device (1) comprising: a first internal chamber (10) connected to a first inlet (11) for a fluid (F1) as well as to a first outlet (12) for a liquid fraction and to a second outlet (13) for a gaseous fraction, a second internal chamber (20) connected to a second inlet (21) for a fluid (F2) as well as to a third outlet (22) for a liquid fraction and to a fourth outlet (23) for a gaseous fraction,
the second chamber (20) being located above the first chamber (10) and the second outlet (13) extending through the second chamber (20) to the level of the fourth outlet (23). The invention also relates to a fluid transfer circuit comprising at least one such device (1) as well as a method for using such a device (1).
Shaker and degasser combination
A system for separating components from a slurry of drilling fluid and drill cuttings on a shaker screen having an upper side and a lower side within a shaker. The system also has a pressure differential generator to pull an effective volume of air through a section of the shaker screen to enhance the flow of drilling fluid through the section of the shaker screen and the separation of drilling fluid from drill cuttings and further maintain an effective flow of drill cuttings off the shaker. A method of separating components of a slurry of drilling fluids and solids has the steps of delivering the slurry to a shaker, flowing the slurry over a first screen and applying an effective amount of vacuum to a first portion of the first screen to remove the drilling fluids from the slurry without stalling the solids on the first screen.
