Spray tip
A spray tip is configured to atomize thick, viscous fluids. The spray tip includes a pre-orifice piece having an inlet orifice that defines a first restriction in a fluid path through the spray tip. The spray tip also includes a tip piece having an outlet orifice that defines a second restriction in the fluid path. The first and second restrictions are the portions of the fluid path having the smallest flow areas. A cross-sectional area of the outlet orifice is greater than a cross-sectional area of the inlet orifice.

PAINT SPRAYER SADDLE SEAL INSERTION TOOL AND METHOD
A reversible paint spray tip, including a barrel portion configured to be inserted into a barrel bore of a tip holder, and a tip flag portion attached to the barrel portion and positioned generally transversely of the barrel portion. The tip flag portion includes a handle portion defining a handle axis, integrally formed with a first end of the tip flag portion, and an alignment portion defining an alignment axis, integrally formed with a second and opposing end of the tip flag portion. The handle axis and the alignment axis are non-collinear and intersect at an angle relative to the handle portion to prevent interference of the handle portion and barrel portion with one or more guards of the tip holder when the alignment portion is positioned in the barrel bore while in an alignment position.

Gesture control of a fluid application system
A fluid application system includes a pump unit configured to pump a fluid to a fluid applicator. The fluid application system includes a sensor configured to sense a motion made by a user and generate a sensor signal indicative of the sensed motion. The fluid application system also includes a control system configured to identify a gesture based on the sensor signal and control the fluid application system based on the identified gesture.
Unmanned aerial vehicle for painting structures
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) includes a sprayer configured to generate a pressurized fluid flow and a nozzle configured to receive the pressurized fluid from the sprayer and to generate a spray fan to apply the fluid to a surface. The UAV includes sensors and a control unit to control both flight of the UAV and spraying by the sprayer. The fluid can be stored onboard the UAV in a reservoir or can be remotely stored and pumped to the UAV. The UAV control unit can be preloaded with a spray plan and a flight plan, or the UAV can be controlled by a user.

SELF FLUSHING FLOW RESTRICTOR FOR A FLUID DISPENSING SYSTEM
In one example, a fluid flow restrictor has a housing outlet offset from a housing inlet along a fluid flow direction so as to define a channel therebetween. A rotatable body that is disposed in the channel defines a bore that extends entirely therethrough such that the bore defines a bore inlet and a bore outlet. The flow restrictor has an interior surface disposed in the bore that defines an orifice having a cross-sectional dimension that is less than a cross-sectional dimension of the channel such that the orifice can restrict a flow of fluid as the fluid flows between the housing inlet and outlet. The rotatable body is rotatable between 1) a first orientation, where the bore outlet is offset from the bore inlet along the fluid flow direction, and 2) a second orientation, where the bore inlet is offset from the bore outlet along the fluid flow direction.
REVERSIBLE NOZZLE IN ULTRASONIC ATOMIZER FOR CLOG PREVENTION
A nozzle for an atomizer includes a plate, a piezoelectric actuator, a body, and a connector. The plate defines an aperture. The actuator is configured to oscillate the plate. The body supports the plate. The connector is configured to reversibly mount the body to the atomizer in a first orientation and in a second orientation. In the first orientation, fluid exits the nozzle along a first axial direction through the aperture. In the second orientation, fluid exits the nozzle along an opposite axial direction through the aperture.
Fluid applicator
A fluid applicator configured to receive a pressurized fluid includes a pressure vessel configured to receive the pressurized fluid from a fluid delivery line. The pressure vessel includes a valve chamber configured to receive a valve assembly, a filter chamber configured to receive a filter assembly, and a fluid delivery line fitting configured to be coupled to the fluid delivery line. The fluid applicator further including a tip assembly coupled to the pressure vessel and configured to atomize the pressurized fluid.
