Wastewater spray distribution apparatus
11530138 · 2022-12-20 · ·

A wastewater spray distribution apparatus is operative to distribute wastewater produced by a sewage treatment system (10) onto a ground level (22) through operation of sprayers (118, 260). The exemplary sprayers include a manifold (142, 262) that includes outlet nozzles (158, 264) that can be readily removed and replaced. The exemplary manifold further includes interior areas bounded by surfaces that slope continuously downward from the outlet nozzles to the manifold inlet to assure the draining of water therefrom. Each of the nozzles include a base (140) which includes a liquid tight jacket (208). The jacket isolates components which facilitate movement of a rotatable hub (154), from water passing through the sprayer and other contaminants. A brake is provided in each nozzle and includes a liquid lubricant in the jacket that operates to limit rotational movement produced by the thrust of water passing from the outlet nozzles to assure that the sprayer operates at the appropriate rotational speed.

Irrigation nozzles are provided that irrigate a full circle coverage area with different maximum throw radiuses. The nozzle may include two bodies, one nested within the other, that acting together form the full circle coverage area. The two bodies collectively define an annular exit orifice with one of the bodies defining the inner radius and the other body defining the outer radius. A flow restrictable inlet may be used to adjust flow through the nozzle and to adjust the maximum throw radius. The nozzle may also include a flow reduction valve to reduce the throw radius from a maximum distance and may be adjusted by actuation of an outer wall of the nozzle. A deflector for use with an irrigation nozzle is also provided.

Arc Arrest Mechanism For Irrigation Sprinklers

A mechanism is described to resist or prevent rotation of portions of an irrigation sprinkler riser when in its lowered or popped-down position. Hence, when a pedestrian walks over a lowered sprinkler or a lawn mower rolls over a sprinkler, for example, the riser will remain fixed in its rotational orientation relative to its outer body and surroundings. By resisting or preventing this rotation, this rotational locking mechanism prevents damage to the internal transmission, gears, and arc trip mechanisms of the sprinkler, as well as prevents the watering arc from being accidentally adjusted.

A sprinkler module is cooperable with a sprinkler nozzle unit supporting a sprinkler nozzle to define a sprinkler configuration. The sprinkler module includes a cage attachable to the sprinkler nozzle unit and including a pair of struts, a cap connected to the cage via the pair of struts, and a deflector plate cooperable with the sprinkler nozzle and rotatably secured between the cap and the cage. The deflector plate includes a hub extending through the cap. A plate gear with gear teeth is secured to the hub and is rotatable with the deflector plate, and a cover assembly is connected to the cap. The cover assembly includes a brake gear coupled with a brake assembly, where the brake gear is disposed in a path of the gear teeth.

A brake is provided in each nozzle and is adjustable to provide brake force to limit rotational movement produced by the thrust of water passing from the outlet nozzles to assure that the sprayer operates at the appropriate rotational speed. Alternative arrangements include manifolds including fixed or adjustable flaps and radially outwardly adjustable arms to adjust rotational properties.

ROTARY ATOMIZER TURBINE

A rotary atomizer turbine is provided, the turbine including a turbine wheel with multiple turbine blades, a blade duct containing the turbine blades and being delimited radially by a duct wall, a braking air nozzle, a driving air nozzle and an outlet region at the outlet of the driving air nozzle. The outlet region is delimited at the outside by the duct wall of the blade duct and at the inside by the turbine blade respectively passing through it. The blade duct is delimited radially at the inside opposite the braking air nozzle by a stationary flow barrier. Furthermore, the outlet region of the individual driving air nozzles is a divergent cross-sectional region which widens in the flow direction and rotates with that turbine blade passing the driving air nozzle.

Turbo jet mixer

A tank cleaning machine comprising a housing having an inlet and a stationary guide diverter disposed within the housing. A gearing mechanism is attached to the stationery flow diverter. A nozzle extends from the housing wherein the nozzle is in fluid communication with the inlet and the nozzle includes an inclined portion extending from a horizontal portion of the nozzle. A drag limiter extends into a hydraulic fluid reservoir to limit the rotation speed of the gear.

Sprinkler braking mechanism

What is disclosed is a self governing speed control device for controlling the rotation speed of a sprinkler turbine. The device has a housing that houses a viscous fluid. An axle extends into the housing and is configured to rotate in the housing. The axle is fixedly attached to a primary drum that rotates with the axle. One or more hinge pins extends from the primary drum. A brake shoe is positioned on the hinge pin. The hinge pin passes into a slot in an actuation drum configured to rotate on the axle. The brake shoe is configured to expand and contract based on the speed of rotation of the axle in relation to the speed of rotation of the actuation drum.

NOZZLE AND SPRINKLER FOR CENTER PIVOT END

A sprinkler nozzle is configured for a sprinkler positioned at a distal end of a center pivot irrigation system. The sprinkler nozzle includes a connection part securable to the sprinkler, and a nozzle opening downstream of the connection part. A nozzle opening downstream of the connection part is part-toroidal shaped and partially blocked or skewed to control water flow to portions of the deflector plate according to a desired wetted area. The part-toroidal shape spans an arc less than 360 degrees. The nozzle enables a custom designed water application to complement the other sprinklers that are on the pivot and can be shaped to also apply water a distance beyond the end of the pivot pipe to match the application rate of the sprinklers along the pivot pipe.
