An electrostatic atomizer can include a paint supply path configured to supply paint to a paint discharge section; and a high voltage supply path configured to supply a high voltage to a discharge electrode, wherein the discharge electrode comprises a semi-conductive material, and wherein the high voltage supply path includes a high resistance near the discharge electrode, and is electrically segregated from the paint supply path.

A handheld portable electrostatic device for electrostatically applying a treatment solution to a treatment site of a patient, including a housing and a cartridge removably disposed in the housing. The cartridge includes a cartridge housing and a nozzle for applying the treatment solution. An electrostatic module is provided to electrostatically charge and ionize molecules of the treatment solution of the cartridge. The treatment solution is configured to flow toward the nozzle whereby at least one electrode electrically connected to the electrostatic module physically contacts the treatment solution as it flows therethrough and applies an electrical charge to the treatment solution.

An air motor, a rotary atomizing head provided on a front side of the air motor to be rotatable by the air motor, external electrode units provided in a periphery of the rotary atomizing head, and a high-voltage applying unit that applies a high voltage to the external electrode units to indirectly charge paint particles atomized from the rotary atomizing head with the high voltage. A film cover is provided to be formed with a resin material in a film shape for covering an outer peripheral side of the air motor. A shaping air ring (9) with air spout holes (10, 11) formed therein is provided on the rear side of the rotary atomizing head (4). The shaping air ring (9) is formed of a conductive material and is connected to ground. External electrode units (13) are provided in the periphery of the rotary atomizing head (4). A film cover (17) made of an insulating material is provided to cover an outer peripheral side of the air motor (3). A semi conductive member (21) is replaceably mounted to an adaptor (16) provided on an outer peripheral side of the shaping air ring (9). A rear end part (21B) of the semi conductive member (21) is made in contact with a front end part (19D) of the film cover (17). A front end part (21C) of the semi conductive member (21) is made in contact with the shaping air ring (9).

The cartridge can include an electrostatic module for electrostatically charging the treatment solution in the treatment solution reservoir; and a nozzle for applying the treatment solution.

An applicator is disclosed for applying a treatment solution to a treatment site of a patient. The applicator can include an applicator housing comprising a treatment solution reservoir. A cartridge can be removably disposed in the housing. The cartridge when arranged in the housing can be in fluid communication with the treatment solution reservoir. The cartridge can include an electrostatic module for electrostatically charging the treatment solution in the treatment solution reservoir; and a nozzle for applying the treatment solution.

To improve actual coating efficiency, the present invention has a coating robot provided with a coating unit configured by a plurality of rotary atomizing type electrostatic coating machines horizontally arranged, and a coating control apparatus that controls the coating unit and the coating robot. A diameter of each of bells is 50 mm or less. The coating material discharge amount of each rotary atomizing type electrostatic coating machine is 400 cc/min or less. A coating distance between each bell and a surface to be coated of a workpiece is controlled between 50 mm to 150 mm. The coating material discharge amounts of the plurality of electrostatic coating machines are controlled for the respective coating machines. The control of the coating material discharge amounts includes a pause of coating material discharge.
