SPRAY IONIZATION DEVICE, ANALYSIS DEVICE, AND SURFACE COATING DEVICE
A spray ionization device comprising: a first pipe body that has a first flow path which allows a liquid to flow therethrough, and has, at one end thereof, a first outlet through which the liquid is sprayed out; a second pipe body that surrounds the first pipe body; and a third pipe body that surrounds the second pipe body with a space interposed therebetween, that has a second flow path allowing a gas to flow therethrough, and that has a second outlet at the one end. At least the leading end part of the third pipe body including the second outlet is made of an electrically conductive material so as to serve as an electrode. Charged droplets can be sprayed from the second outlet by applying an electric field to droplets sprayed from the first outlet using a power supply connected to the electrode.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MONITORING A FLOW FIELD OF A PARTICLE JET
A method for controlling gas dynamic spraying includes providing a particle jet by using an accelerating nozzle, illuminating the particle jet with illuminating light pulses, capturing images of the particle jet illuminated with the illuminating light pulses, and determining one or more velocity values by analyzing the captured images,
wherein the images are captured by using an imaging unit which includes imaging optics to form an optical image of an object plane on an image sensor by focusing light, wherein an optical axis of the imaging unit is inclined with respect to a central axis of the nozzle, and wherein the image sensor is inclined with respect to the optical axis such that the object plane is substantially parallel with a direction of movement of particles of the particle jet.
Cold Gas Spraying System Having an Adjustable Particle Jet
Various embodiments include a cold gas spraying system for generating an adjustable particle jet. The system may include: a nozzle from which the particle jet emerges; a supply device for supplying a particle stream to the nozzle; and one or more actuators operable to reduce the particle stream and/or the particle jet during operation. At least one of the actuators comprises a valve arranged between the supply device and the nozzle.
AUTOMATIC WET WIPE PAPER-TOWEL DISPENSER
A non-drip hygiene dispenser for dispensing a wipe paper-towel while keeping a clean and sterile working area comprises (a) a wipe paper-towel, (b) at least one reservoir containing liquid, (c) a first stream of compressed air, (d) a second stream of compressed air, an anti-dripping nozzle, (e) rolling means, and (f) cutting means. The anti-dripping nozzle further comprises activating means and a dispensing tip. The activating means comprises a retractable anti-drip needle backed by a spring. The spring retracts backwards when compressed air of the first stream of compressed air presses the spring, thus retracts the anti-drip needle, and thus, unblocks the dispensing tip to allow liquid from the at least one reservoir to flow through the dispensing tip. When the compressed air pressing the spring is released, the retractable anti-drip needle returns to its original place, blocking the dispensing tip to block the passage of liquid remained in the dispenser immediately upon shut off of the dispenser, thus, to avoid undesired dripping. The second stream of compressed air entering the anti-dripping nozzle mixes with the sprayed liquid in order to form a foggy environment around the wipe paper-towel.
SPRAY IONIZATION DEVICE
A spray ionization device comprising: a first tube that has a first flow path through which a liquid can flow and a first outlet on one end thereof from which the liquid is sprayed; a second tube that surrounds the first tube with a gap therebetween, has a second flow path through which a gas can flow, and has a second outlet on the one end thereof; and an electrode that extends through the interior of the first flow path of the first tube, from the other end thereof to the one end, said electrode being arranged such that the tip thereof is at the same position as the first outlet or is further on the other end side than the first outlet, and said electrode being able to apply a voltage to the liquid by means of a power source connected to the electrode.
Thermal fogger for creating stable aerosols
An improved thermal fogging device includes an extended heat transfer surface located within the aerosolization chamber that increases the mixing of the liquid chemical particles and the hot gases in the aerosol to improve aerosolization. The extended heat transfer surface also helps to increase the heat transfer to the forming aerosol in the aerosolization chamber.
Methods for cold spraying nickel particles on a substrate
Described herein, are methods for providing a protective coating to a storage container for storing nuclear material, the method comprising depositing nickel particles on at least one surface of the substrate to produce the protective coating, wherein the nickel particles are deposited by cold spraying a composition comprising nickel particles and a carrier gas comprising nitrogen. In one aspect, the carrier gas consists essentially or consists only of nitrogen. The methods do not require pretreatment or modification of the nickel particles prior to cold spraying, which makes the methods described herein economically practical. The coatings produced by the methods described herein possess several advantageous properties including, but not limited to, high adhesion strength to the storage system and low porosity. The coatings produced by the methods described herein are effective against chemical attack such as, for example, CISCC.
PROCESS FOR COATING A CARRIER MATERIAL WITH AN ACTIVE MATERIAL FOR THE PRODUCTION OF AN ELECTRODE FOIL OF A BATTERY CELL
A process for coating a carrier material with an active material for production of an electrode foil of a battery cell with a Laval nozzle, wherein the Laval nozzle has at least one converging first portion, one second portion having a smallest flow cross section, and one diverging third portion arranged one after the other along a flow direction.
Razor Blade and Method of Making It
In the method for coating a razor blade with a lubricating material, a razor blade is provided having a body portion and a tip end defined by at least one tip surface and a cutting edge. The lubricating material is sprayed on the tip end of the razor blade, wherein spraying the lubricating material is performed steam-aided in that the lubricating material is introduced into a superheated water steam directed towards the tip end of the razor blade. Moreover, a method of making a razor blade by using the afore-mentioned method for coating the razor blade with a lubricating material is provided. Finally, also a razor blade coated in accordance with these methods, and a shaving razor provided with such a razor blade are described.
