A roller for applying paint or other liquid or semi-liquid substances to surfaces. The roller includes a tubular frame that extends in a cylindrical shape. This tubular frame has two ends: a first end tapers outward (away from the main body of the tubular frame) to an enclosed conical point or apex. A second end is open and adapted to permit access to the interior volume of the tubular frame by a shaft of a roller frame. The open second end of the tubular frame permits selective removal and insertion of the paint roller shaft into the tubular frame. Typically, the tubular frame is held in place on the shaft by friction. A cover wrap dimensioned to circumferentially envelop the tubular frame is also included in the assembly; this cover wrap has a liquid-absorbent outer surface adapted for temporarily retaining paint, stain, or other liquid or semi-liquid substances.

The present invention provides an apparatus for applying a consumable preparation including an applicator assembly and a roller assembly. The applicator assembly includes a handle, an arm longitudinally extending from one end of the handle, and an axle connected to the arm and longitudinally spaced from the handle. The roller assembly includes a core having at least one end cap configured to rotatably receive the axle. The core extends transversely from the at least one end cap, and a solid consumable preparation is fixedly connected to at least an exterior surface of the core.

An apparatus for wetting a roller (e.g. with paint) includes a liquid containment area having a first side wall, a second side wall, a first end wall and a second end wall, and a sloping bottom section connected to form a rectangular container capable of holding a liquid. The sloping bottom section slopes such that a first end of the rectangular container is deeper than a distal opposing end such that the liquid tends to drain and pool in the first end. A lip extends inwardly continuously around the top edges of the side walls. The lip reduces spilling of paint, adds stiffness to the tray, and provides a base for the attachment of a roller cleaning mesh. In some embodiments, a roller cleaning mesh is mounted to the lip above the first end for rolling a roller over to remove debris from the roller.

One or more technique and/or systems for a coating roller assembly, including a coating applicator cage frame (122) and a frame wire (102, 302). The roller assembly can comprise a handle (150) coupled with the frame wire (102, 302) configured to operably hold the coating applicator cage frame (122). Bearings (120, 126, 320, 326) can be fixed to the coating applicator cage frame (122) at its both ends. Instead of using typical pinning or swedging techniques for holding the bearing (120, 302), a sleeve can be crimped into place over a treated surface of the frame wire (102, 302) between the second end (106) and third bend (112). In this way, for example, the structural integrity of the frame wire (102, 302) can be substantially maintained, providing for improved durability and a longer life for the roller assembly.

The roller assembly can comprise a handle (150) coupled with the frame wire (102, 302) configured to operably hold the coating applicator cage frame (122). A device including a roller cage configured for connection to a frame of a paint roller. The roller cage includes a distal end cap having an outer wall. The roller cage also includes a roller cage body connected to the distal end cap, the roller cage body including a first side wall and a second side wall opposed to the first side wall. The first side wall and the second side wall radially extend less than a radius of the distal end cap. The roller cage also includes a crest disposed at least partially within the roller cage body and extending radially past the first side wall and the second side wall.

A device including a roller cage configured for connection to a frame of a paint roller. The roller cage includes a distal end cap having an outer wall. The roller cage also includes a roller cage body connected to the distal end cap, the roller cage body including a first side wall and a second side wall opposed to the first side wall. The first side wall and the second side wall radially extend less than a radius of the distal end cap. A cosmetic package for dispensing and applying a fluid product, the cosmetic package comprises a container for accommodating the fluid product and an applicator head coupled to the container. The applicator head comprises a plurality of ball members, an upper plate, a lower plate, and a connector. The lower plate supports the plurality of the ball members on an upper surface thereof. The upper plate covers the lower plate such that a part of the plurality of ball members is exposed to the outside through a plurality of openings of the upper plate. A duct of the upper plate extends through the lower plate and connects to an internal duct of the connector so that the fluid product can move from the internal duct of the connector to the upper plate and can be dispensed through a dispensing orifice formed in the upper plate.

A cosmetic package for dispensing and applying a fluid product, the cosmetic package comprises a container for accommodating the fluid product and an applicator head coupled to the container. The applicator head comprises a plurality of ball members, an upper plate, a lower plate, and a connector. The lower plate supports the plurality of the ball members on an upper surface thereof. The upper plate covers the lower plate such that a part of the plurality of ball members is exposed to the outside through a plurality of openings of the upper plate. A duct of the upper plate extends through the lower plate and connects to an internal duct of the connector so that the fluid product can move from the internal duct of the connector to the upper plate and can be dispensed through a dispensing orifice formed in the upper plate.

A refillable skin lotion dispenser includes a refillable lotion housing having an openable collar located at or adjacent a first end thereof. The collar includes a dispensing valve configured to dispense lotion therethrough under gravity; and an annular sponge permanently secured to the collar and configured to surround the dispensing valve so as to be operative to spread dispensed lotion over an area of skin.
