HIGH EMISSIVITY COATING COMPOSITIONS, AND PROCESSES FOR PREPARING AND APPLYING THE SAME
To provide a high emissivity coating composition capable of exhibiting a higher emissivity at a low elevated temperature and substantially reduced formation micro craze when coated upon a substrate, and enabling a simplified application process, a high emissivity coating composition, comprising a powder mixture for providing emissivity; a binder for providing adhesion; and a co-binder for promoting adhesion and film-forming, characterized in that the powder mixture comprises at least three metal compounds of formula A.sub.(y−3)B.sub.y/2O.sub.y, wherein y is 4; A is selectable from a group of Ni and Co; B is selectable from a group of Fe and Cr; and O is oxygen; and the co-binder is an aqueous solution comprising silica in a compound of Formula (1), wherein R.sub.1 is H—Si—(CH.sub.3).sub.2; and a compound of Formula (2), wherein R.sub.2 is CH.sub.3, is disclosed herein.
Method for obtaining superhydrophobic corrosion-resistant coatings
This disclosure relates to a method for obtaining superhydrophobic corrosion-resistant coatings. State-of-the-art approaches involve etching methods with elevated temperatures and/or longer duration which are complex and use high concentration of combination of acids, alkali, and salt solutions in etching process to obtain a roughness which makes it difficult to handle usage of chemicals and controlling process. The method of the present disclosure has addressed this issue by selection of optimum concentrations of combinations of one or more type of acids, oxidizing agents which are safe, easy to handle and provide better control over the process. The method of the present disclosure is easy, inexpensive, and environmentally friendly. The superhydrophobic corrosion-resistant coatings possess water contact angles greater than 151° and coating efficiency more than 85 percent arrived at by using corrosion currents from polarization studies.
Finishing Of Additively Manufactured Parts With Smoothing And Color
A surface finishing apparatus and method for smoothing and coloring parts made by additive-manufacturing technologies is disclosed. The surface finishing apparatus includes a tank or chamber into which a part is placed. A colorant is added. The part is both colored and smoothed until the part is at a desired smoothness and color. The part may be smoothed by different suitable smoothing technologies, including abrading with solid media, spraying with a liquid fluid, spraying with solid particles entrained in a liquid fluid, or submersing in a liquid vortex. Also disclosed is a composition for a colorant for a finishing process that smooths a surface of an additively manufactured part while coloring the additively manufactured part.
Wood treatment method
Disclosed is a method for treating a grained material. A nonlimiting example of the method includes the operations of providing a workpiece having grains, exasperating a surface of the workpiece to open the grains, applying at least one coat of a base paint to the exasperated surface, applying at least one layer of clear coat on the base paint, applying at least one of a glaze and a paint on the clear coat, and surface treating to reveal grains of the workpiece. Disclosed also are items of furniture and sheet materials treated by the aforementioned process.
