The sampler is used to interface with existing field instrumentation, such as Ion Mobility Spectrometer (IMS) equipment. Desired sampler characteristics include its: stiffness/flexibility; thermal mass and conductivity; specific heat; trace substance collection/release dependability, sensitivity and repeatability; thickness; reusability; durability; stability for thermal cleaning; and the like. In one form the sampler has a glass fiber core with a thickness less than 0.3 millimeter that is coated with a polymer including one or more of: polymeric organofluorine, polyimide, polyamide, PolyBenzlmidazole (PBI), PolyDiMethylSiloxane (PDMS), sulfonated tetrafluoroethylene (PFSA) and Poly(2,6-diphenyl-p-phenylene Oxide) (PPPO). Multiple polymer coatings with the same or different polymer types may be included, core/substrate surface functionalization utilized, and/or the core/substrate may be at partially filled with thermally conductive particles.
Conformal fluoropolymer coatings
Methods for forming a fluoropolymer coated component, such as a metal component, comprise applying an adhesion promoter onto a surface of the component; applying an organic material onto the adhesion promoter; and applying a mixture comprising a fluoropolymer and a solvent selected from a furan or a fluorinated solvent onto the organic material. Fluoropolymer coatings have a thickness of from about 5 mil to about 80 mil on a component, an average porosity of from about 20% to about 70% based on the total volume of the layer, and a void density of from about 10.sup.11 to about 10.sup.13 voids per cm.sup.3.
Method for coating microstructured components
The present disclosure provides a method for the surface modification of microstructured components having a polar surface, in particular for high-pressure applications. According to the method, a microstructured component is contacted, in particular treated, with a modification reagent, wherein the surface properties of the component are modified by chemical and/or physical interaction of the component surface and of the modification reagent.
Method for modifying surface of polymer substrate and polymer substrate having surface modified thereby
The present invention relates to a method for modifying the surface of a polymer substrate. Specifically, the present invention provides a method for modifying the surface of a polymer substrate using a plasma treatment, a hydrophilic primer and a coating agent including a hydrophobic fluorine compound.

An electronic component, or a precursor thereof, that comprises a curable organopolysiloxane composition or a cured product thereof is disclosed. The curable organopolysiloxane composition is generally curable through a hydrosilylation reaction and can be applied to at least one area by a microdroplet application device. The curable organopolysiloxane composition has a viscosity of no more than 2.0 Pa.Math.s at a strain rate of 1,000 (1/s), and a viscosity at a strain rate of 0.1 (1/s) being a value no less than 50.0 times the viscosity at a strain rate of 1,000 (1/s). In particular, the area of application generally is a substantially circular area that fits within a frame no more than 1000 μm in diameter, a linear area no more than 1000 μm in line width, or a pattern configured from a combination of these areas.
Steel Protective Coating Compositions, Methods of Their Manufacture, and Methods of Their Use
Steel sheet coating compositions in which polymeric resin or ceramic properties are produced by admixing an aluminum coordinate complex and an anhydrous, encapsulated, aluminum particle paste, a polysilazane as a source of silicon, an organic solvent, an organic synthesis catalyst, and optionally a non-metallic, non-ionic, low-nucleophilic base. The admixed coating is applied to sheet steel prior to hot-stamping in order to inhibit surface formation of iron oxides and to improve steel sheet surface characteristics.
