Acoustic transducer
An acoustic transducer (30), comprising: a support structure (36); an active assembly comprising a base plate (32) supported by the support structure (36) and a piezoelectric body (34) supported by the base plate (32); and a passive vibrator (38) supported by the support structure (36) and coupled via the support structure (36) to the active assembly (32, 34) so that vibration of the active assembly (32, 34) drives the passive vibrator (38). The active assembly (32, 34) and the passive vibrator (38) have the same resonant frequency.

Vibration device
A piezoelectric element includes a piezoelectric element body including a first principal surface and a second principal surface opposing each other, and a plurality of external electrodes disposed on the first principal surface. A vibration member includes a third principal surface opposing the second principal surface. The piezoelectric element is joined to the third principal surface. A wiring member is electrically connected to the piezoelectric element. The wiring member includes a region located on the plurality of external electrodes and joined to the plurality of external electrodes. The region of the wiring member monolithically covers the plurality of external electrodes when viewed from a direction orthogonal to the first principal surface.
MICRO-MACHINED ULTRASOUND TRANSDUCERS WITH INSULATION LAYER AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
Disclosed is a multi-silicon on insulator (SOI) micromachined ultrasonic transducer (MUT) device. The device comprises a multi-SOI substrate and a MUT. The MUT is affixed to a surface of the multi-SOI substrate. The multi-SOI substrate has a first SOI layer and at least a second SOI layer disposed above the first SOI layer. The first SOI layer and the second SOI layer each comprise an insulating layer and a semiconducting layer. The first SOI layer further defines a cavity located under a membrane of a MUT and one or more trenches at least partially around a perimeter of the cavity.
Fibre excitation with piezo bender actuators
A device (100) for the excitation of a fiber (150) comprises a first piezo bender actuator (110) and a second piezo bender actuator (120). The device (100) also comprises a connection part (130) which is arranged between the first piezo bender actuator (110) and the second piezo bender actuator (120). The device (100) also comprises a movable fiber (150) which is mounted to the connection part (130).
ULTRASONIC TRANSDUCER
An ultrasonic transducer includes first and second acoustic transducers and a housing with a bottomed tubular shape. The second acoustic transducer includes an annular section supporting a second membrane section and contacting an entire periphery of the second membrane section, and an acoustic matching plate facing the second membrane section and spaced apart from the second membrane section. The acoustic matching plate is connected to a surrounding wall portion defining a sealed space with the housing. An ultrasonic transmission path sandwiched between the first membrane section and the second membrane section is provided in the sealed space. A maximum inner width of the ultrasonic transmission path is smaller than a maximum inner width of the surrounding wall portion.
Air Layer For Improved Performance Of Transducer At Low Frequencies
A Transducer in a downhole environment with an increased amplitude of the transducer output at lower frequencies. A transducer may include a bender bar, wherein the bender bar may include a first piezoelectric layer disposed on one surface of the bender bar, a second piezoelectric layer disposed on the opposite surface of the bender bar, and a metallic substrate disposed between the first piezoelectric layer and the second piezoelectric layer. The transducer may further include a first fixed end is attached to the bender bar and connects the bender bar to a base, a second fixed end opposite the first fixed end that attaches the bender bar to the base, and a compartment disposed within the base.
TRANSMITTER CHARGE SHARING IN A DIFFERENTIAL ULTRASONIC TRANSDUCER
An ultrasonic transducer device comprises a controller and a differential piezoelectric micromachined ultrasonic transducer with a membrane later, a bottom electrode layer, a piezoelectric layer, and a top electrode layer comprising a first electrode with a positive voltage to displacement coefficient and a second electrode with a negative voltage to displacement coefficient. During a first period, the controller electrically decouples a first output of a first driver from the first electrode, electrically decouples a second output of a second driver from the second electrode, and electrically couples the first and second electrodes to equalize charge between them. During a second period, the controller electrically decouples the first and second electrodes, electrically couples the first output with the first electrode, and electrically couples the second output with the second electrode; where waveforms on the first and second outputs during the second time period are out of phase with one another.

Provided is a vibration panel including an inner member, a first outer member, a second outer member, a piezoelectric actuator, an actuator bonding layer, and a filler. The inner member includes first and second main surfaces. The first outer member includes third and fourth main surfaces, the third main surface including a first region and a second region. The second outer member includes fifth and sixth main surfaces, the fifth main surface including a third region and a fourth region. The piezoelectric actuator causes vibration. The actuator bonding layer is disposed between the piezoelectric actuator and the second region and bonds the piezoelectric actuator to the second region. The filler fills a space between the second region and the fourth region and covers the piezoelectric actuator.
