Method and apparatuses for screening
Embodiments of the present disclosure include a screen basket apparatus includes a substantially vertical cylindrical frame and a synthetic screening surface secured to the frame. The synthetic screening surface may be configured to separate carbon or resin from a slurry of a carbon-in-leach, carbon-in-pulp, resin-in-leach, or resin-in-pulp material as fluid flows from outside to inside the screen basket apparatus such that carbon or resin is retained on an external surface of the synthetic screening surface. The cylindrical frame may be a grid frame and the synthetic screening surface may include a plurality of replaceable screen assemblies attached to the grid frame. The grid frame may include a plurality of openings and each of the plurality of openings is configured to receive a respective one of the plurality of replaceable screen assemblies. The synthetic screening surface may include injected molded thermoplastics, thermoset polyurethanes, and/or other polymeric materials.
Trommel With Gated Flow Diverters
A trommel assembly includes a trommel frame, a plurality of screen panels mounted to the trommel frame to define a material processing channel configured for receipt of screening material, and a gate assembly mounted to the plurality of screen panels. The gate assembly extends into the material processing channel along a radial direction and includes a plurality of circumferential dams that extend substantially along a circumferential direction and are spaced apart along an axial direction to define a plurality of screening stages. The gate assembly further includes a plurality of transfer gates extending at a transfer angle relative to the circumferential direction between adjacent dams of the plurality of circumferential dams, wherein the plurality of transfer gates connect the plurality of screening stages such that rotating the trommel assembly advances the screening material through the material processing channel.

The case may be formed of a single injection molded piece integrally formed by injection molding one of a polyurethane or a thermoset polymer. The screening elements together form a generally continuous screening surface across the exterior of the grid frame, which reduces blinding and is resistant to wear and tear.
Thermoplastic compositions, methods, apparatus, and uses
Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) compositions, methods for producing TPU compositions, methods of using TPU compositions, and apparatuses produced therefrom are disclosed. Disclosed TPU compositions include a thermoplastic polyurethane polymer, a heat stabilizer, a flow agent, and a filler material. The filler may be a glass fiber. Disclosed TPU compositions have improved thermal stability and improved flow properties suitable for injection molding of articles of manufacture having a large plurality of fine openings or pores. Articles produced from the composition have superior thermal stability, abrasion resistance, and chemical resistance. Example articles include screening members for vibratory screening machines.
