A control method for article sorting, comprising: acquiring relationship data at least used for reflecting a correspondence between an article list comprising labels of articles to be sorted and a sorting machine; and on the basis of the relationship data, controlling the articles to be sorted that have been selected to be conveyed to the corresponding sorting machine. The described method may improve the degree of automation of the article sorting operation, and increase the operation efficiency. Also disclosed are a control device for article sorting and a readable storage medium.

Item sorting with delivery point compression
11548035 · 2023-01-10 · ·

Systems and methods for sorting items for delivery to delivery points, using delivery point compression. Items can be sorted and sequenced for delivery by a sorting machine having a finite number of sorting destinations. For routes having more delivery points than the number of sorting destinations, delivery point compression allows sorting destination assignments that eliminate delivery points not likely to receive any items. Sorting destination assignments can be performed by a processor of the sorting machine based on expected item information and delivery point item frequency scores.

A sorting system includes a control server, multiple sorting robots, and a sorting region. The sorting region is divided into multiple sub-regions. At least one supply station and multiple delivery openings are deployed in each sub-region. Delivery openings respectively correspond to paths. The control server determines, according to path information of an item to be sorted, a target delivery opening corresponding to a path of the item, determines, from the multiple sub-regions of the sorting region, a target sub-region in which the target delivery opening is located, and allocates a delivery task to a target sorting robot among the multiple sorting robots. In response to the delivery task, the target sorting robot acquires the item from the supply station where the item is located, carries the item to the target delivery opening in the target sub-region, and delivers the same.

Material handling apparatus and method for sorting items using a dynamically configurable sorting array

A method and apparatus are provided for sorting items to a plurality of sort destinations. The items are fed into the apparatus at an input station having a scanning station. The scanning station evaluates one or more characteristics of each item. The items are then loaded onto one of a plurality of independently controlled delivery vehicles. The delivery vehicles are individually driven to sort destinations. Once at the appropriate sort destination, the delivery vehicle ejects the item to the sort destination and returns to receive another item to be delivered. A re-induction conveyor may be provided for receiving select items from the vehicles and conveying the items back to the input station for re-processing. Additionally, a controller is provided to control the movement of the vehicles based on a characteristic each item being delivered by each vehicle.

Multi-tiered parcel sortation system

A multi-tiered automated parcel sortation system is utilized to sort parcels according to a common destination. A first tier includes an automated sorter configured to transport parcels from a source location to a release destination. A second tier includes accumulation containers each associated with a shipping destination, and the release destination within the first tier is a positioned directly above the accumulation container associated with the shipping destination of the parcel. Once transported to the release destination, a parcel is released into the accumulation container, and once the accumulation container is filled, the accumulation of parcels within the container is released into a third tier, which may include conveyors or autonomous guided vehicles with transport containers. In the third tier, the parcels are transported away for further processing.

Method of sorting articles to a plurality of delivery routes includes sequencing a plurality of delivery stops within each of a plurality of routes based on a predefined criterion, and, depositing articles associated with a first delivery stop of each route in a first sequence container. The method also includes transferring articles from the first sequence container to a respective route container of a plurality of route containers, each route container associated with a route, depositing articles associated with a second delivery stop of each route in a second sequence container, and, transferring articles from the second sequence container to the respective route container of the plurality of route containers. Transferring articles from the second sequence container commences after completion of transferring articles from the first sequence container.
