A system is provided for the identification and separation of heterogeneous material, the system comprising: a hyperspectral identification system for capturing spectra of material; a computer receiving and analyzing data from the hyperspectral identification system and selecting desired materials from the heterogeneous materials; and an ejection system, whereby the desired materials are ejected from the system.
SORTER
A method and system for sorting workpieces, such as chicken nuggets. The sorting system includes a conveyor system that advances in a forward direction and one or more blow off bars positioned over the conveyor system. The blow off bars extend along the forward advancing direction. The blow off bars include one or more valved nozzles connected to a pressurized source of a fluid, and the nozzles are positioned to discharge the fluid across the conveyor system.
Vacuum extraction for material sorting applications
Systems and methods for vacuum extraction for material sorting applications are provided. In one embodiments, a vacuum object sorting system comprises: a vacuum extraction assembly that includes at least one vacuum extractor device having an inlet and an outlet, wherein the at least one vacuum extractor device is configured to convert a controlled compressed air stream into a channeled vacuum airflow entering the inlet and exiting the outlet; and an object recognition device coupled to sorting control logic and electronics, wherein the controlled compressed air stream is controlled in response to a signal generated by the object recognition device; wherein the at least one vacuum extractor device is configured to capture a target object identified by the sorting control logic and electronics utilizing the channeled vacuum airflow, and further utilizing the channeled vacuum airflow, to pass the target object through the inlet and outlet to a deposit location.
IDENTIFICATION APPARATUS
An identification apparatus includes a plurality of light collection optical systems configured to collect scattered light from a plurality of test substances, a spectroscopic element configured to disperse a plurality of light beams from the plurality of light collection optical systems, an imaging unit including a plurality of light receiving elements arrayed in a row direction and a column direction, and configured to receive a plurality of dispersion spectra projected from the spectroscopic element and projected in the row direction, an acquisition unit configured to acquire spectroscopic information of at least any of the plurality of test substances based on an output signal from the imaging unit, and an intensification processing unit configured to perform row direction binning processing including integrating output signals of the plurality of light receiving elements existing at different positions in the row direction.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SORTING HETEROGENEOUS MATERIAL
A system is provided for the identification and separation of heterogeneous material, the system comprising: a hyperspectral identification system for capturing spectra of material; a computer receiving and analyzing data from the hyperspectral identification system and selecting desired materials from the heterogeneous materials; and an ejection system, whereby the desired materials are ejected from the system.

An optical sorter includes a light source, a color sensor, a determination part configured to determine a foreign object and/or a defective product, a color shift amount calculation part configured to calculate, based on a color image acquired by the color sensor, an amount of a color shift that occurs due to the fact that at least two element groups out of an R element group, a G element group, and a B element group are spaced apart from each other in a transit direction of a sorting target, a speed calculation part configured to calculate a transit speed of the sorting target based on a separation distance between the at least two element groups in the transit direction, the color shift amount, and a scan time, which is a time required for the color sensor to scan the sorting target once, and a sorting device configured to perform a trajectory change operation for changing a trajectory of a specific sorting target determined based on a result of the determination by the determination part at a timing determined based on the transit speed calculated by the speed calculation part.
Actuated air conveyor device for material sorting and other applications
Actuating an air conveyor device is disclosed, including: causing an airflow to be generated by an airflow generator of an air conveyor device, wherein the airflow generator is configured to cause the airflow to enter an intake port of the air conveyor device and exit from an outlet port of the air conveyor device in response to receiving air at an air input port of the air conveyor device; causing a target object to be captured by the air conveyor device using the airflow; activating a positioning actuator mechanism to position the air conveyor device; and causing the target object to be ejected from the air conveyor device.

A sorting system (10, 20) for sorting sorting objects (1), including a sensor unit (2) which is adapted to detect a property, in particular a size, shape, weight, color and/or material, of a sorting object (1), and a valve arrangement (3) which is adapted to blow on the sorting object (1) in order to convey the sorting object (1) to one of a plurality of possible sorting destinations (4), wherein the sorting system (10, 20) is adapted to selectively set, according to the detected property, a blowing strength (8) to a first blowing strength (8A) greater than zero or to a second blowing strength greater than zero, the second blowing strength being different from the first blowing strength (8B), and to blow the sorting object using the valve arrangement with the set blowing strength to cause the sorting object to be conveyed to the sorting destination.
Efficient material recovery facility
An efficient material recovery facility is disclosed, including: a first sorting device configured to: process a first instruction to remove a first target item from a set of items; and in response to the first instruction, perform a first sorting action to remove the first target item from the set of items, wherein the set of items excluding at least the first target item is to be transported towards a second sorting device, wherein the second sorting device is associated with a same sorting device type as the first sorting device; and wherein the second sorting device is configured to perform a second sorting action to remove a second target item from the set of items excluding at least the first target item in response to receiving a second instruction to remove the second target item.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SORTING RECYCLABLE ITEMS AND OTHER MATERIALS
Systems and methods for sorting recyclable items and other materials are provided. In one embodiment, a system for sorting objects comprises: at least one imaging sensor; a controller comprising a processor and memory storage, wherein the controller receives image data captured by the image sensor; and at least one pusher device coupled to the controller, wherein the at least one pusher device is configured to receive an actuation signal from the controller. The processor is configured to detect objects travelling on a conveyor device and recognize at least one target item traveling on a conveyor device by processing the image data and to determine an expected time when the at least one target item will be located within a diversion path of the pusher device. The controller selectively generates the actuation signal based on whether a sensed object detected in the image data comprise the at least one target item.
