There is provided a mobile waste segregation system transportable between different sites. The mobile waste segregation system comprises: an enclosure unit (10) configured for housing a human operator (12), the enclosure unit (10) including a waste segregation facility (14) for receiving at least one waste container and segregating the waste from the or each waste container into different streams of product or commodity, the enclosure unit (10) further including a packing facility operable to pack each stream of product or commodity; an asset tag reader operable to read an asset tag of the or each waste container; and an asset tagging device operable to add an asset tag to each packed stream of product or commodity and/or update an existing asset tag of each packed stream of product or commodity.

There is provided a mobile waste segregation system transportable between different sites. A device for sorting waste includes: a first conveyance module including a first conveyor belt movably mounted thereon, the first conveyance module include a hopper disposed at a first end of the first conveyor belt, the hopper being configured to receive waste; a second conveyance module including a second conveyor belt movably mounted thereon, the second conveyance module being coupled to the first conveyance module such that a first end of the second conveyor belt is positioned adjacent to a second end of the first conveyor belt; a first drain pan disposed underneath the first end of the first conveyor belt and aligned with the hopper; and a second drain pan disposed underneath the second end of the first conveyor belt and the first end of the second conveyor belt.

A device for sorting waste includes: a first conveyance module including a first conveyor belt movably mounted thereon, the first conveyance module include a hopper disposed at a first end of the first conveyor belt, the hopper being configured to receive waste; a second conveyance module including a second conveyor belt movably mounted thereon, the second conveyance module being coupled to the first conveyance module such that a first end of the second conveyor belt is positioned adjacent to a second end of the first conveyor belt; a first drain pan disposed underneath the first end of the first conveyor belt and aligned with the hopper; and a second drain pan disposed underneath the second end of the first conveyor belt and the first end of the second conveyor belt.

The present invention is related to methods and systems for collected item information for stored items. In one embodiment, a networked food storage system comprises a first sensor configured to read information from item tags coupled to items, wherein the items are stored or intended to be stored in a storage unit. A data store is configured to store food preferences for at least a first user. Instructions, stored in computer readable memory, are configured to: cause a first user interface to be displayed to the first user via which the first user can request a meal suggestion; retrieve preference information for the first user from computer readable memory; retrieve information read from at least a first item tag; and provide a meal suggestion based at least in part on preference information for the first user and item tag information.

Provided is an article acquisition system including: an imaging unit configured to image an article; an arm capable of acquiring the article; a control unit configured to determine a shape of the article from image data captured by the imaging unit; and a display unit capable of selecting whether or not to acquire the article. In a case where determination is made to acquire the article imaged by the imaging unit, the control unit displays an arrangement position of the article on the display unit, and displays a screen to which an acquisition position of the article is input, and in a case where the acquisition position is input, the control unit moves the arm toward the arrangement position, and moves the arm in conformity to the acquisition position to acquire the article.

An illumination apparatus, method and system to facilitate manual sorting of components. The illumination apparatus can include an array of lights and a component holder receptacle configured to receive a component holder retaining components. The illumination apparatus can further include a control module configured to receive information identifying components for sorting and location information for locating the one or more components on the component holder, and to selectively control activation of individual lights of the array of lights to illuminate the one or more components.

A mobile picking system for sorting a plurality of materials has a support frame upon which a conveyor arrangement is mounted. The conveyor arrangement is configured to convey the materials from one end of the support frame to the opposing end. At least one picking station is provided upon the support frame adjacent said conveyor arrangement. The support frame is variable between a working configuration and a transporting configuration by a plurality of support legs which are coupled to the support frame. The conveyor arrangement has a picking conveyor and a feed system.

Various arrangements involving a single-stream sorting system are presented, such as for use in sorting a single stream of recyclable materials. The single-stream sorting system may include a platform for an operator to stand on. The single-stream sorting system may include a circular conveyor that rotates in either a clockwise or counterclockwise direction to move the stream of items around the platform. The single-stream sorting system may include a plurality of item collector chutes arranged in a circular pattern around an outer circumference of the circular conveyor. The stream of items deposited on the conveyor is rotated around the circular platform and proximate to each item collector chute of the plurality of item collector chutes to allow items from the stream of items to be moved from the circular conveyor into the plurality of item collector chutes.
