Prescription bottle label degrader
A simple hand held label degrading device and method employs a molded polymer ring (collar) having a plurality of molded hardened pointed teeth on the internal circumference projecting radially inward for degrading the label of a prescription bottle or the like inserted therein. A longitudinal slot in the collar allows it to be fitted over a bottle such that simple hand squeezing of the collar compresses the collar around the bottle and engages the pointed teeth against the label. Simple hand twisting of the collar around the bottle in a clockwise or counterclockwise rotation cuts through the plastic composite or paper label and shreds the label rendering sensitive information illegible thus protecting personal health information. The bottles can then be thrown away or recycled without fear of medical identity theft.

Multi-Bar Scraper for Cleaning Marine Risers and Wellbores
An instrument for the mechanical removal of corrosive buildup, deposits or scale from within a wellbore. A tubing-conveyed scraping blade and/or other abrading devices (50) has a collapsible maximum outer diameter by using a multi-bar mechanism (53, 54) to ensure physical contact with corrosive buildup, deposits or scale on surfaces of a surrounding wellbore, oil and gas tubular, or drilling/production marine riser (and, in particular, inner surfaces thereof). The multi-bar mechanism allows for a wide range of motion irrespective of the direction of loading and variable maximum outer diameter to clean corrosive buildup, deposits or scale from tubular goods with unknown configurations and/or dimensions.

Apparatus and method for the dry removal of labels from containers made of plastics
An apparatus and method for removing labels from containers made of plastics, such as PET bottles includes: a tubular stator and a rotor defining an annular chamber that extends along a path; on the rotor members are mounted for rotationally dragging and pushing the containers inside the annular chamber; on the tubular stator there are first scraping tools provided with first tip ends; the dragging and thrusting members include second scraping tools provided with second tip ends that are distributed along one or more helical paths; the first tip ends and the second tip ends define respectively in the annular chamber a first punctiform scraping surface and a second punctiform scraping surface for the containers, in which the distance between the first punctiform scraping surface and the second punctiform scraping surface is maintained substantially constant in a longitudinal and circumferal direction with respect to the rotor.

Apparatus and process for processing of glass containers and process for manufacturing glass containers including such a processing
An apparatus and process for processing outer surfaces of glass containers (50) for use in pharmaceutical, medical or cosmetic applications, said glass containers (50) having a cylindrical main body (52). The process comprises: providing (S1) a plurality of containers (50); separating individual containers from said plurality of containers (50); and sequentially conveying said individual containers (50) through a processing station (1; 61). In the processing station (1; 61), the individual containers (50) are rotated about a longitudinal axis thereof while outer surfaces of the cylindrical main bodies (52) are in contact with a scrubbing member (27; 30, 35), for reducing an adhesive surface behavior of the outer surfaces of the cylindrical main bodies (52) of the individual containers. In this manner the surface properties of glass containers may be enhanced significantly with a cost-efficient and simple processing to thereby prevent undesired ‘stickiness behavior’ of the glass containers.
