An automated system and method for washing bins. The system includes an infeed conveyor zone having a first conveyor platform for transporting the bins in a conveying direction. The system also includes a bin rotator disposed next to the infeed conveyor zone and rotates upward to allow the bins to be flipped and then loaded onto the first conveyor platform. The system further includes a bin washer zone located downstream from the infeed conveyor zone and having a second conveyor platform for receiving and transporting the bins in the conveying direction. The bin washer zone has sprayers for washing and sanitizing the bins with pressurized liquid. A flipping zone is located downstream from the bin washer zone for allowing the bins to be flipped and transferred onto an outfeed zone that allows the bins to be transported into a loading position at the end of the outfeed zone for reuse.

The support is provided with a plurality of grip clamps, each clamp is constituted by a pair of mutually opposite jaws, the internal faces of which are substantially concave and contoured.

An assembly for feeding/picking up containers for washing machines includes an external feeding station provided with a delivery area, an internal washing station, and an external output station. The assembly further includes at least one support which can move by the action of respective actuators between at least one first configuration of alignment with a respective external station and at least one second configuration of alignment with the internal washing station. When the processing position is at the transfer station, the lifting element causes relative motion between a container carrier and a processing head of the processing position. This causes the processing position to transition between receiving and discharge states.

In the feeding position, container openings of containers held by the container holders point upward. In the treatment position, they point downward. A pivot drive pivots the pivot arm, which holds the transport element so that it is rotatable by a rotary drive.
