Multi-chamber medical waste ozone-based treatment systems and methods
11565289 · 2023-01-31 · ·

Ozone-based methods and systems for treatment of solid waste that contains pathogens, and requires apparent volume reduction, include using dual treatment chambers, lift transporters that cascade the preliminarily treated solid waste, and agitation within the second (high ozone concentration) treatment chamber. The steps include feeding solid waste into a shredder chamber to reduce its apparent volume; and then to a first treatment chamber for preliminary ozone molecular interaction with the solid waste, and to a second treatment chamber with an agitator, via at least one lift transporter, to both cascade and agitate to enhance efficacy.

Methods of disposing of liquid radioactive medical waste are disclosed. The methods relate to depositing liquid radioactive medical waste into or onto a substrate that includes (a)(i) fibers, or (ii) both fibers and foam, and (b) activated carbon. The substrate adsorbs liquid radioactive medical waste to facilitate safe disposal of liquid radioactive medical waste.

Waste disposal substrates are also disclosed. The waste disposal substrates include (a) at least one layer of fibers, (b) at least one layer containing activated carbon; and (c) at least one layer containing superabsorbent particles. Methods of using waste disposal substrates are also disclosed. Methods of using a waste disposal substrate may include contacting a waste disposal substrate with a liquid fluid, the waste disposal substrate containing: (a) at least one layer of fibers, (b) at least one layer containing activated carbon; and (c) at least one layer containing superabsorbent particles. The liquid fluid, or a component of the liquid fluid, is collected, dissolved, adsorbed, inactivated, destroyed, and/or disposed of within the waste disposal substrate.

SYSTEM FOR REMOTE CONTROL OF DECONTAMINATION OF MEDICAL WASTE

A method for remote control of decontamination of medical waste in an apparatus includes receiving, by a server via a first network interface and from the apparatus via a second network interface, a plurality of signals, the plurality of signals comprising operation data of the apparatus generated while the apparatus performs medical waste decontamination cycles in a first configuration; analyzing, by the server, the plurality of signals according to an operation policy; selecting, by the server, a first signal based on the analyzing the plurality of signals; and adjusting, by the server, operation of the apparatus by transmitting, via the first network interface, instructions to the second network interface of the apparatus, the instructions comprising the first signal, wherein receipt of the instructions causes the apparatus to perform a medical waste decontamination cycle in a second configuration different from the first configuration.

A secured “smart” container is disclosed for collecting green waste products including operational functions for collection, video surveillance and monitoring capacity. The secured “smart” container may include one or more programmable logic controllers. Operational functions are performed by electrical components including sensors to determine green waste deposits characteristics and contents. Operational functions are further adapted to send and receive data, operationally wirelessly, and configured and adapted to utilize solar derived electric power and, optionally, electric power from other sources. Embodiments provide constant 24 hour/7 days a week video surveillance and alert monitoring capabilities. Disclosed systems and methods also include collection and transportation of waste contents from the container to a processing subsystem. Additionally, disclosed systems may also include a monitoring system for monitoring the collection of green waste product, delivery of the same to the processing subsystem and tracking to and throughout final processing of the green waste product and handling personnel.

Feeding system for treating liquid medical waste

The present disclosure discloses a feeding system for treating liquid medical waste. The feeding system comprises a receiving container for storing liquid medical waste and a feeding container for accommodating a coagulant. The feeding container comprises an outlet and a seal for closing the outlet, and the receiving container comprises a feeding connector with a feeding channel. The feeding container and the receiving container are provided with a guide mechanism comprising guide lugs and guide slots, and the feeding connector is provided with a plurality of splitting portions arranged along the circumferential direction of the feeding channel and spaced apart from each other by a certain distance. The guide mechanism allows the operation of rotating the feeding container by a predetermined angle relative to the receiving container, and this operation causes the splitting portions to cut the seal along the circumference of the feeding channel to destruct the seal, thereby causing the coagulant accommodated in the feeding container flows into the receiving container through the outlet. The present disclosure provides a safe and convenient operation manner for adding a coagulant into a storage container of liquid medical waste.
