Optimized flux ERH electrode

An in-situ thermal remediation method and a drip system for implementing the method. The drip water system collects data and changes its drip operation to optimize performance of the electrode. Electrical current, drip volume, drip cycle time and change in current are measured as a function of time and adjustments are made to the drip water volume and time between injections to optimize performance based on the observed current performance over time. A specialized screen delivers water where it is needed.

THERMAL REMEDIATION SYSTEM AND PROCESS

The present invention provides a system for thermal remediation and/or the processing of a feed materials like contaminated materials, waste polymeric materials, waste paper products, waste wood and biomass. The system comprises at least one thermal screw conveyor provided in a housing under pressure, a first plug screw conveyor in a housing in communication with an inlet of thermal screw conveyor housing and a second plug screw conveyor in a housing in communication with an outlet of thermal screw conveyor housing. The thermal housing is configured to heat the feed material to form one or more vaporized products and a solid residue, wherein one or more vaporized products are removed through the one or more vapor ports provided in the pressure housing, and the solid residue is discharged from an outlet of the second seal-housing.

Method for manipulating smoldering combustion to remediate porous media impacted by recalcitrant compounds

A method for remediating a contaminated porous matrix including selecting the type and quantity of organic fuel to create a smolderable mixture of the organic fuel and contaminated porous matrix, and controlling the rate of oxidant addition to manipulate the relative proportions of oxidative breakdown products, non-oxidative breakdown products, and non-destructive remediation processes. The method further involves collecting the volatilized contaminant, and any gaseous breakdown products of the contaminant.

ELECTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION HEATER

A heating device for heating underground soil including a conductor housed in a conductive casing, where when at least one driving current is supplied to the conductor, the conductor generates at least one magnetic field that induces at least one induced current in the casing. The driving currents are of a frequency sufficient to cause the induced currents to generate resistance in the casing, thereby increasing the temperature of the casing. A plurality of the heating devices may be arranged in an array to facilitate the heating of a zone of soil.

HEATER FOR CONTAMINANT REMEDIATION
