METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING FLAT METAL PRODUCTS

Method for the production of flat metal products, in particular coils of strip, in endless and/or semi-endless mode, in which a metal product is continuously fed to a rolling mill consisting overall of at least 4 stands. The rolling stands are, in sequence, roughing stands, and finishing stands. It is provided to perform a flying gauge change of the metal product exiting from the rolling mill.

Reduction of Surface Defects During Finish Rolling of Hot Strip

The invention relates to a finishing train for finish rolling hot strip. It is the object of the invention to modify an existing finishing train in such a way that the surface quality of the hot strip produced is improved without, however, significantly increasing the use of energy during production. This is intended to enable the thin hot strip produced to be used even for applications with high demands on surface quality. This object is achieved by a cleaning nozzle which cleans the upper side of the exit table, thus ensuring that scale and/or rolling dust are/is removed from the exit table.

This intermediate coil can be stored until ready for hot rolling. The as-cast metal strip can undergo reheating prior to hot rolling, either during coil storage or immediately prior to hot rolling. The heated metal strip can be cooled to a rolling temperature and hot rolled through one or more roll stands. The rolled metal strip can optionally be reheated and quenched prior to coiling for delivery. This final coiled metal strip can be of the desired gauge and have the desired physical characteristics for distribution to a manufacturing facility.

MILL STAND

A device for stabilizing of working rollers and back-up rollers of a mill stand that has, for each bending block, first hydraulic pressing units being arranged upstream of the working roller, each first hydraulic pressing unit having a piston with a piston rod and a pressure plate, the piston and the piston rod being integrated in the bending block and the pressure plate being pressable against a working roller chock, and for each stand column, at least one second hydraulic pressing unit, the second hydraulic pressing unit being arranged downstream of the back-up roller and having a piston with a piston rod and a pressure plate, the piston and the piston rod being integrated in the stand column and the pressure plate being pressable against the back-up roller chock, and a first hydraulic pressing unit containing a first oscillation absorber.

MILL STAND

A device for stabilizing of working rollers and back-up rollers of a mill stand that has, for each bending block, first hydraulic pressing units being arranged upstream of the working roller, each first hydraulic pressing unit having a piston with a piston rod and a pressure plate, the piston and the piston rod being integrated in the bending block and the pressure plate being pressable against a working roller chock, and for each stand column, at least one second hydraulic pressing unit, the second hydraulic pressing unit being arranged downstream of the back-up roller and having a piston with a piston rod and a pressure plate, the piston and the piston rod being integrated in the stand column and the pressure plate being pressable against the back-up roller chock, and a first hydraulic pressing unit containing a first oscillation absorber.
