METAL CASTING AND ROLLING LINE
A continuous casting and rolling line for casting, rolling, and otherwise preparing metal strip can produce distributable metal strip without requiring cold rolling or the use of a solution heat treatment line. A metal strip can be continuously cast from a continuous casting device and coiled into a metal coil, optionally after being subjected to post-casting quenching. This intermediate coil can be stored until ready for hot rolling. The as-cast metal strip can undergo reheating prior to hot rolling, either during coil storage or immediately prior to hot rolling. The heated metal strip can be cooled to a rolling temperature and hot rolled through one or more roll stands. The rolled metal strip can optionally be reheated and quenched prior to coiling for delivery. This final coiled metal strip can be of the desired gauge and have the desired physical characteristics for distribution to a manufacturing facility.
Method and system for the open-loop and/or closed-loop control of a heating of a cast or rolled metal product
A method for open-loop and/or closed-loop control of a heating of a cast or rolled metal product, includes the steps of determining the total enthalpy of the metal product from a sum of the free molar enthalpies (Gibbs energy) of all phases and/or phase fractions currently present in the metal product; determining a temperature distribution within the metal product by means of a dynamic temperature calculation model using the total enthalpy determined; and open-loop and/or closed-loop controlling of the heating of the metal product as a function of at least one output variable of the temperature calculation model.
Rolling and preparation method of magnesium alloy sheet
The present disclosure provides a high-efficient rolling process for magnesium alloy sheet. Parameters of the rolling process are: the rolling speed of each rolling pass is 10-50 m/min, the rolling reduction of each rolling pass is controlled to be 40-90%, and both the preheating temperature before rolling and the rolling temperature of each rolling pass are 250-450° C. The present disclosure also provides a preparation method for magnesium alloy sheet, comprising: 1) preparing rolling billets; 2) high-efficient hot rolling; and 3) performing annealing. The rolling process can improve the mechanical performance especially, the strength and ductility of the sheet.
