Metal substrate provided with tailored surface textures and method for applying such textures on metal substrates
A metal substrate provided with surface textures wherein different texture patterns are provided over predefined surface areas of the metal substrate and wherein the different texture patterns are tailored to predefined surface properties of a product which is to be made out of the metal substrate as well as to a method for applying such surface textures on the metal substrate.
Multi-stage aluminum alloy forming and thermal processing method for the production of vehicle components
A method of forming and processing a high strength aluminum alloy for the production of a vehicle component includes providing a metal sheet that was rolled from an aluminum alloy. The sheet is heat treated through a first aging step of a set of aging steps that are necessary to achieve a T6 or a T7 temper state. Prior to achieving the T6 or a T7 temper state, the sheet is formed to a desired shape and welded in the desired shape to produce a desired vehicle component. Once formed, the vehicle component is heat treated through a remaining aging step to achieve a T6 or T7 temper state homogeneously throughout the vehicle component.

The steel plate has a yield strength of 600 MPa, a tensile strength of 650 MPa, an elongation after fracture of 12%, a good strength and toughness and an excellent corrosion resistance.
Surface texturing of deforming tools
A method of producing a deforming tool (2) having a structured embossing surface (4) which can be brought into contact with a surface of a substrate (1) for plastic deformation of the substrate, includes the steps of determining a target structure to be produced on the substrate (1); geometrically distorting the target structure, such that an embossing image structure is obtained; inverting the embossing image structure, such that the embossing structure for the embossed surface (4) is obtained; and producing the embossing surface (4) of the deforming tool (2) according to the embossing structure.
ROLLING OF A ROLLED MATERIAL
The invention relates to a rolling apparatus for rolling a rolled material, and to a method for operating the rolling apparatus. The rolling apparatus has two rolling stands, which each have two working rolls distanced from one another by a nip, through which the rolled material can be guided. In a first operating mode, a lubricant mixture, formed of a carrier gas and a lubricant, and coolant are applied to at least one working roll of a first rolling stand and/or to at least one rolled material surface of the rolled material. In a second operating mode, a skin pass agent is applied to at least one working roll of the first rolling stand, at least one working roll of the second rolling stand and/or at least one rolled material surface of the rolled material.
Hot-rolled steel sheet
A hot-rolled steel sheet includes a chemical composition represented by, in mass %, C: 0.010% to 0.100%, Si: 0.30% or less, Cr: 0.05% to 1.00%, Nb: 0.003% to 0.050%, Ti: 0.003% to 0.200% and others, wherein a proportion of grains having an intragranular misorientation of 5 to 14 in all grains is 20% or more by area ratio, the grain being defined as an area which is surrounded by a boundary having a misorientation of 15 or more and has a circle-equivalent diameter of 0.3 m or more.
