METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SURFACE-TREATED AND SURFACE-CONDITIONED STEEL SHEET
The present disclosure relates to a process for producing a surface-treated and surface-finished sheet steel. A sheet steel having a zinc-based coating is provided, wherein zinc grains are distributed within the coating. The surface-treated sheet steel are skin-pass rolled to form embossed regions and unembossed regions on the surface of the sheet steel provided with a zinc-based coating. Skin-pass rolling is performed with a degree of skin-pass greater than 1% in such a way that due to the force exerted by the skin-pass rolling the zinc grains in the embossed region are altered in dimension relative to the zinc grains in the unembossed region.
Systems and methods for controlling flatness of a metal substrate with low pressure rolling
A flatness control system includes a work stand of a finishing line, a plurality of actuators, a flatness measuring device, and a controller. The work stand includes a pair of vertically aligned work rolls. A first work roll of the pair of work rolls includes a plurality of flatness control zones configured to apply a localized pressure to a corresponding region on a substrate. Each actuator corresponds with a one of the plurality of flatness control zones. The flatness measuring device is configured to measure an actual flatness profile of the substrate. The controller is configured to adjust the plurality of actuators such that the localized pressures modify the actual flatness profile to achieve the desired flatness profile at the exit of the stand. The thickness and a length of the substrate remain substantially constant when the substrate exits the work stand.
SHEET STEEL HAVING A DETERMINISTIC SURFACE STRUCTURE
The invention relates to a steel sheet skin-pass rolled with a deterministic surface structure, and to a method for producing it.
Systems and methods for controlling surface texturing of a metal substrate with low pressure rolling
Systems and methods of applying a texture on a substrate include applying a texture to the substrate with a work stand of a coil-to-coil process. The work stand includes an upper work roll and a lower work roll vertically aligned with the upper work roll. At least one of the upper work roll and the lower work roll includes the texture. Applying the texture includes applying, by the upper work roll and a lower work roll, a work roll pressure on an upper surface and a lower surface of the substrate. The method further includes adjusting a contact pressure parameter of the work stand such that the work stand provides a desired contact pressure distribution across the width of the substrate and a desired thickness profile of the edges of the substrate while an overall thickness of the substrate remains substantially constant.
SHEET STEEL HAVING A DETERMINISTIC SURFACE STRUCTURE
The invention relates to sheet steel, more particularly a coated sheet steel, which is skin-pass rolled with a deterministic surface structure, and to a method for producing this steel.
Method for manufacturing parts with a low waviness from an electrogalvanized metal sheet, corresponding part and vehicle
A method for manufacturing parts is provided. The method includes cold rolling a substrate with work cylinders whose work surface has a roughness Ra.sub.2.5 of less than or equal to 3.6 μm, depositing the metal coating on at least one face of the annealed substrate by electrodeposition to form the metal sheet and deforming the cut metal sheet to form the parts. The outer surface of the metal coating has a waviness Wa.sub.0.8 of less than or equal to 0.5 μm after the deformation step. A part and vehicle are also provided.
SURFACE TEXTURING OF DEFORMING TOOLS
A method of producing a deforming tool (2) having a structured embossing surface (4) which can be brought into contact with a surface of a substrate (1) for plastic deformation thereof (of the substrate), the method comprising: determining a target structure to be produced on the substrate (1); geometrically distorting the target structure, such that an “embossing image structure” is obtained; inverting the “embossing image structure”, such that the embossing structure for the embossed surface (4) is obtained; and producing the embossing surface (4) of the deforming tool (2) according to the embossing structure.
MULTI-STAGE ALUMINUM ALLOY FORMING AND THERMAL PROCESSING METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF VEHICLE COMPONENTS
A method of forming and processing a high strength aluminum alloy for the production of a vehicle component includes providing a metal sheet that was rolled from an aluminum alloy. The sheet is heat treated through a first aging step of a set of aging steps that are necessary to achieve a T6 or a T7 temper state. Prior to achieving the T6 or a T7 temper state, the sheet is formed to a desired shape and welded in the desired shape to produce a desired vehicle component. Once formed, the vehicle component is heat treated through a remaining aging step to achieve a T6 or T7 temper state homogeneously throughout the vehicle component.
Micro-textured surfaces via low pressure rolling
A substrate (e.g., metal or non-metal sheet) can have multiple textures on a surface of the substrate. The various textures can be impressed or applied on the surface of the substrate by passing the substrate between multiple pairs of work rolls that each include at least one textured work roll for transferring a texture of the work roll onto the surface of the substrate. The pairs of work rolls apply the various textures on the surface of the substrate while maintaining a thickness of the substrate (e.g., with substantially no reduction in a thickness of the substrate). A single pass of the substrate between the pairs of work rolls can allow various different textures, patterns, or features to be applied to the surface of the substrate while the thickness of the substrate remains substantially constant.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A STEEL STRIP AND COATED STEEL SHEET OBTAINABLE THEREBY
A method manufacturing a steel strip, including the subsequent steps of hot rolling the strip into a hot rolled strip, cold rolling the hot rolled strip and hot dip coating the cold rolled strip with a Zn based coating by leading the strip through a bath including molten zinc and wiping the strip after the coating using a gas knife having a knife slot from which a wiping gas is projected and the steel strip is cold rolled to a final cold rolled thickness of between 0.40 mm and 1.00 mm in a multi-stand cold rolling mill, and the coated steel sheet includes a steel substrate provided with a hot dip metal coating.
