ROLLER FRAMEWORK HAVING A FRAMEWORK COOLER FOR COOLING A STEEL BAND
A framework cooler (20) for cooling a steel strip (50), installed in a roller framework (11), the framework being in place of the work rolls (5) and the associated installation pieces (5a and 5b). For this purpose, the framework cooler (20) is sized such that it can be installed into the roller framework (11) through the operator-side roller stands (1) of the roller framework (11). The framework cooler (20) includes a lower water tank (21b) and an upper water tank (21a), each having a connection (22) for a coolant, and a plurality of cooling nozzles (23), or cooling tubes (23a) arranged in the depth direction (T) of the framework cooler (20) or at least one cooling slot (24) extending in the depth direction (T) of the framework cooler (20). The lower and the upper water tanks (21b and 21a) can be thereby supplied with coolant by the respective connection (22). The bottom side of the steel strip (50) can be cooled by the cooling nozzles (23) or cooling tubes (23a) or the cooling slot (24) of the lower water tank (21b). The top side of the steel strip (50) can be cooled by the cooling nozzles (23) or cooling tubes (23a) or the cooling slot (24) of the upper water tank (21a).
Quick-Change Roll Cooling Header Cartridge with Real-Time Feedback of Operational Data
Disclosed is a novel split header for use in a rolling mill. The split header has a mounting block and a quick-change header cartridge, wherein the mounting block is coupled to the quick-change header via a quick-disconnect feature, the quick-disconnect feature configured to enable uncoupling (in a toolless manner) of the quick-change header from the mounting block. Additionally, the quick-change header cartridge may be replaced by a dummy header cartridge that diverts water when stand is dummied, and a split base and header cartridge design. Further, the mounting block may have one or more sensors and the quick-change header may have an RFID tag, where the sensors and the RFID tag may communicate with a central computer.
DEVICE FOR DRYING A METAL STRIP
A treatment device for drying a laminated strip includes: lower and upper crosspieces extending transversely to and on either side of the metal strip, the upper crosspiece embedding an upper pressure cylinder with supporting rollers, the lower crosspiece embedding a lower pressure cylinder with the supporting rollers, the actuator and guide enabling the crosspieces to pass from a retracted idle position to a close working position, for which the lower and upper pressure cylinders, arranged on either side of the strip, transversely to the direction of travel, are each intended to be pressure-applied on the strip by the supporting rollers distributed along the length of the pressure cylinder, and along at least two rotating axes parallel to the longitudinal axis of the pressure cylinder. A first compartment supports all the supporting rollers. A second compartment supports the pressure cylinder. Each compartment is a removable element of the crosspiece.
Cassette for a rolling mill and rolling mill equipped with such a cassette
A cassette intended to be provided on a rolling mill, the cassette (1) forming a self-supporting unit including: a roller intended to constitute one of the two intermediate rollers of the rolling mill; two chocks (3) whereon are mounted the ends of the roller (2); at least one support arm (4) of the at least one side bearing member the support arm extending between the two chocks and being mounted pivotingly in relation thereto.
