A hot-rolling stand (10) for a hot-rolling mill comprises an adjusting device (12), which is intended for receiving a pair of work rolls (17) and for positioning work rolls (18, 19; 20, 21) of the pair of work rolls (17) in relation to one another to define a roll gap. In order to create a hot-rolling stand (10) that can be adapted as flexibly as possible, the adjusting device (12) is designed to interchangeably accommodate, in the pair of work rolls (17), different roll diameter ranges by means of mutually complementary work rolls (18, 19; 20, 21).

An electric resistance welded steel pipe having excellent formability and torsional fatigue resistance and a method for manufacturing the same. The electric resistance welded steel pipe includes a seam region and a base metal region, the seam region having a range of ±10 degrees in a pipe circumferential direction with respect to an electric resistance welded seam formed in a pipe longitudinal direction, the base metal region being a region other than the seam region. The electric resistance welded steel pipe has an r-value in the pipe longitudinal direction of 1.0 or greater, H (mm) and W (mm) satisfy a specified formula, and Ts.sub.(MAX) (mm) and Tb.sub.(Ave) (mm) satisfy a specified formula.
Method and Apparatus for Roll-Embossing a Strip
Provided is a method for rolling a strip with a roll stand with at least two work rolls. A rolling gap with a pass line is defined between the work rolls. A control roll is arranged before the rolling gap of the work rolls in the rolling direction, the strip is guided into the rolling gap of the roll stand via the control roll at an entry angle relative to the pass line and the surface structure of the strip is controlled through the selection of the entry angle depending on the positioning of the control roll relative to the pass line. Also provided is an apparatus for rolling a strip with a roll stand having at least two work rolls. A rolling gap with a pass line is defined between the work rolls.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING GRAIN-ORIENTED ELECTRICAL STEEL SHEET AND COLD-ROLLING FACILITY
In a method of producing a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet comprising subjecting a steel slab containing no inhibitor-forming components to hot rolling, cold rolling, primary recrystallization annealing working also as decarburization and to final annealing causing secondary recrystallization after applying an annealing separator on the surface, the final cold rolling for cold rolling the steel sheet to the final thickness uses a warm rolling with a tandem rolling mill at a total rolling reduction of not less than 80% at 150 to 280° C. and is performed by extending a pass line length of the steel sheet between the stands so that T satisfies T≥1.3×L/V, where an distance between the stands is defined as L(m), a speed of the steel sheet passing between the stands is defined as V (mpm), and a pass time during which the steel sheet passes between the stands is defined as T(min).
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GRAIN-ORIENTED ELECTRICAL STEEL SHEET
Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet using an inhibitor-less technique, in which cold rolling includes final cold rolling with a total cold rolling reduction being set to 85% or more and a rolling reduction per pass being set to 32% or more. The final cold rolling includes one or more passes and a final pass succeeding the one or more passes and uses work rolls having a surface roughness Ra of 0.25 μm or less in at least one of the one or more passes other than the final pass. According to this method, it is possible to stably manufacture a grain-oriented electrical steel sheet exhibiting excellent magnetic properties at low cost.

The device has a short production line, and all components are reasonably configured. A multifunctional cooling control device is adopted to integrate high-pressure water descaling and intermediate billet cooling functions, which is simpler and more efficient. The method includes the steps: carrying out continuous casting to manufacture a slab, high-pressure water rotating descaling, rough rolling by a four-stand high reduction rough rolling unit, machining by a drum shear, cooling after high-pressure water descaling in the multifunctional cooling control device, finish rolling by a three-stand or four-stand finish rolling unit, air cooling, dividing coils by a high-speed flying shear, and coiling by underground coilers, wherein temperature monitoring is respectively carried out after rough rolling, before finish rolling, after finish rolling, and before coiling by the underground coiler.

An apparatus and method for applying an EDT texture to an aluminum sheet has a rolling stand with at least one EDT surfaced roll capable of rolling the sheet at reductions <1%. The rolling is conducted with residual or no lubrication and imparts a texture on the scale of about 1 μm to the surface of the sheet at low roll force.
