Method for forming a moulding and moulding
A shaped part and a method for forming the shaped part from a lightweight metal or alloy by extrusion of a slug performed along a pressing axis. The shaped part is formed in at least one region with a deviation from a basic form that is rotationally symmetrical with respect to the pressing axis. The symmetry-deviating region extends over a wall portion of the shaped part that is formed by backward cup extrusion with a normal vector extending predominantly orthogonally in relation to the pressing axis. The same extruding operation forms a structure that surrounds the pressing axis, on a sheet-like base of the shaped part that adjoins the wall portion and has a normal vector extending predominantly in the direction of the pressing axis on the side thereof opposite from the wall portion. In a region of lowest wall thickness of the wall portion at the transition to the base, the quotient of this wall thickness in mm and an average curvature (1/r) in mm.sup.−1, formed at the transition, is greater than 0.03 and/or, in an at least predominant region of the base-wall transition when seen in the circumferential direction, the ratio of the wall thickness to the base thickness is less than 1.0.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SOLDER DEPOSIT, AND SOLDER DEPOSIT
in a method for producing a solder deposit in a metal sheet, a depression is made in a topside of the metal sheet through deep drawing, thereby causing material to protrude on a bottom side of the metal sheet. The metal sheet is then subjected to a material forming process to produce a collar such that the collar projects in relation to the topside. The collar is then at least partially pressed in a direction of the depression to reduce a cross-sectional area of a mouth of the depression, and the protruding material on the bottom side is completely pushed back so that the bottom side in a region of the depression is in one plane with neighboring regions of the bottom side.
Aluminum alloy for impact extruded containers and method of making the same
Novel aluminum alloys are provided for use in an impact extrusion manufacturing process to create shaped containers and other articles of manufacture. In one embodiment blends of recycled scrap aluminum are used in conjunction with relatively pure aluminum to create novel compositions which may be formed and shaped in an environmentally friendly process. Other embodiments include methods for manufacturing a slug material comprising mixtures of aluminum alloys for use in the impact extraction process, a container manufactured using the aluminum alloy in an impact extrusion process, and the container, wherein the material of the container is the aluminum alloy.

Extrusion forming die for cabin component
The present disclosure provides an extrusion forming die for a cabin component. The extrusion forming die for a cabin component comprises an upper die assembly, a lower die assembly and a combined concave die. The upper die assembly comprises an extrusion punch (3), and the combined concave die comprises an M-shaped outer concave die (4) having a hollow cavity matched with the extrusion punch (3), and a W-shaped inner concave die (5) having a rotary cavity. The W-shaped inner concave die (5) is arranged in the rotary cavity of the M-shaped outer concave die (4) in a matched manner, and the rotary cavity and the hollow cavity are matched to form a rotary extrusion die cavity (18) with a W-shaped longitudinal section.
METHOD AND INSTALLATION FOR MANUFACTURING AND INSPECTING METAL CONTAINERS
Method and installation for manufacturing and inspecting metal containers. The method includes extruding a metal disk to form a metal container having a cylindrical body with a side wall, a base, and an open end opposite the base. After the metal container is formed the thickness of the base is determined by arranging the base between an X-ray emitter and an X-ray receiver and emitting X-rays from the X-ray emitter to the X-ray receiver through the base. The thickness of the base is determined based on the intensity of the X-rays absorbed by the base.

Method for the production of a cooling plate
In a method for the production of a cooling plate from a material having thermal conductivity, a workpiece in the form of a flat material blank with uniform material thickness is placed into a tool. The workpiece is pressed in a first stage by an inner punch of the tool to form in cooperation with pin forming openings of the tool pins upon an effective surface swept by the coolant, as the workpiece is held down by an outer punch of the tool, such that the pins protrude approximately perpendicular over a base area of the workpiece. In a second stage, the workpiece is pressed by the outer punch such as to form an essentially radially extending, flat peripheral edge of reduced material thickness in surrounding relation to the pins, as the workpiece with the formed pins is held down by the inner punch of the tool.
IMPACT EXTRUSION METHOD, TOOLING AND PRODUCT
A hollow preform impact extruded from a metal billet to produce a progressing wall at a transition wall thickness. An axially forward portion of the progressing wall is ironed by extrusion past an extrusion point to form a sidewall portion of a lesser thickness. Extruding is stopped while some of the billet remains to form the closed bottom end. The preform has a bottom portion, a sidewall portion and a transition wall portion extending between the bottom portion and the sidewall portion. The transition wall portion is thicker than the sidewall portion and can be formed into at least part of the rim of an expansion shaped container. An impact extrusion punch has a central axis, an axially forward, impact surface for impacting metal to be extruded, a transition region for directing material displaced by the impact surface and a rear extrusion point for ironing material extruded past the transition region.
