Processes and/or machines for producing continuous plastic deformation, and/or compositions and/or manufactures produced thereby
Certain exemplary embodiments can provide a manufacturing method, process, machine, and/or system for continuously consolidating granular materials, creating new alloys and/or composites, and/or modifying and/or refining material microstructure, by using plastic deformation of feedstock(s) provided in various structural forms. Materials produced during this process can be fabricated directly and/or in forms such as, e.g., wires, rods, tubes, sheets, plate and/or channels, etc.
Device for producing metal sheets or hollow chamber plates from extruded profiles
An apparatus for producing metal sheets from extruded profiles of small thickness or of hollow chamber plates of light metal, preferably of magnesium or magnesium alloys, comprises an extruder for producing an extruded profile which is open along a surface line. A separating device is provided for cutting the extruded profile to length corresponding to the length of the metal sheet to be produced, or the hollow chamber plate to be produced. A bending unit is used for deforming the extruded profile into a U-shaped profile. An expansion unit is provided for expanding the U-shaped profile into a flat metal sheet or a hollow chamber plate. A stacking unit is also provided. At least one expansion unit is arranged parallel to the extrusion line and thus the extrusion and expanding processes are decoupled from one another.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A TUBE AND A MACHINE FOR USE THEREIN
A method is used to manufacture an article using a machine having a fixed base and a press structure movable toward the fixed base. The machine also includes a die assembly and a container both coupled to the fixed base. The machine further includes a mandrel assembly comprising a rotatable platform coupled to the press structure and having a first platform mandrel aligned with the die assembly and a second platform mandrel aligned with the container. The method includes the steps of placing a first starting component into the die assembly, pressing the first starting component to form the article, moving the second platform mandrel into the container simultaneously with the step of pressing the first starting component, and rotating the rotatable platform to align the second platform mandrel with the die assembly and to align the first platform mandrel with the container.
Press for extruding metal material
The invention relates to a press for extruding metal material. The press comprises a hydraulic oil circuit for controlling one or more extrusion pistons movable within corresponding cylinders. Such a circuit comprises a fixed displacement, circulation pump operated by an electric motor with variable rotation speed. The hydraulic circuit comprises a main line and a branch line, along which a shutoff element is arranged. The hydraulic circuit comprises a hydraulic control unit comprising a pilot valve arranged along a pilot line provided with a first segment communicating with the main line and a second discharging segment. Said hydraulic unit is provided to move the shutoff element between an opening position and a closing position of the branch line according to the difference between the oil pressure upstream of the shutoff element and that in the first segment of said pilot line. The hydraulic circuit further comprises a control element which, in an activation condition, and as a result of the activation of said pilot valve, determines a gradual increase of the pressure in the first segment of said pilot line and a corresponding gradual closing movement of said shutoff element causing a consequent gradual increase of the thrust on the piston until the reference speed is reached.
EXTRUSION PRESS
An electric powered extrusion press pushes an extrusion stem by extrusion force generated by an electric powered drive device so that pressure is applied to a billet and a predetermined product is extruded through a die, wherein the electric powered drive device is provided with one or more freely rotatable wire drums, an electric powered extrusion-use main motor makes the wire drums rotate wind up wires and thereby give a thrust to movable pulleys in the extrusion direction so that a crosshead and extrusion stem are driven to advance through an extrusion movement part.
