Device for producing metal sheets or hollow chamber plates from extruded profiles
An apparatus for producing metal sheets from extruded profiles of small thickness or of hollow chamber plates of light metal, preferably of magnesium or magnesium alloys, comprises an extruder for producing an extruded profile which is open along a surface line. A separating device is provided for cutting the extruded profile to length corresponding to the length of the metal sheet to be produced, or the hollow chamber plate to be produced. A bending unit is used for deforming the extruded profile into a U-shaped profile. An expansion unit is provided for expanding the U-shaped profile into a flat metal sheet or a hollow chamber plate. A stacking unit is also provided. At least one expansion unit is arranged parallel to the extrusion line and thus the extrusion and expanding processes are decoupled from one another.

Method and apparatus for producing metal sheets
Metal sheets (13) are produced from strand-shaped profiles (8) having a low thickness, made of magnesium or magnesium alloys by way of an extrusion system (1). The open or closed extruded profile (8) exiting the extrusion die (6-7) of an extrusion press (1) is shaped to obtain a flat metal sheet (13) and is then subjected to a defined shaping process by way of stretch-forming. The system for carrying out the method is essentially composed of an extrusion press (1) comprising a die plate generating the extruded profile and a shaping unit (5) following the die plate, wherein the shaping unit (5) is composed of a severing unit (2), a bending unit (3), and an unrolling unit (4).

EXTRUSION APPARATUS
An extrusion apparatus includes an extruder, a run-out table that supports an extruded material that has been extruded from the extruder, a feed roller and a pulling roller that are provided at a given interval so as to be able to come in rolling contact with the extruded material that is situated on the run-out table, and a cooling section that cools the extruded material between the feed roller and the pulling roller, wherein the feed roller and the pulling roller apply a tensile force to the extruded material while the extruded material advances from the feed roller to the pulling roller.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EXTRUSION CORRECTION
A method for work piece correction including providing a work piece and analyzing its geometry. Based on the analysis, the method includes determining an initial design of simulated clamp blocks and conducting an initial computer-simulated analysis of work piece correction using the initial design. The method includes determining whether the initial computer-simulated analysis meets predetermined performance criteria and iteratively repeating additional computer-simulated analyses using additional designs until a final clamp block design produces results that meet predetermined performance criteria. The method includes forming clamp blocks based on the final clamp block design, installing the clamp blocks into clamps of a clamping system, and applying extrusion corrections to the work piece.
Nonferrous extrusion handling systems and processes
The specification discloses a nonferrous extrusion system and process providing improved transfer of extrusions from the runout table to the cooling table. The runout table includes interleaved runout rollers and transfer rollers that are vertically shiftable with respect to one another. The transfer rollers additionally are horizontally shiftable between the runout table and the cooling table. The runout table receives extrusions in a longitudinal direction. The vertical and horizontal shifting of the rollers is controlled to transfer the extrusions from the runout table to the cooling table.
METHOD FOR CALIBRATING A METAL PROFILE BLANK WHICH IS CONFIGURED AS A HOLLOW-CHAMBER PROFILE AND WHICH HAS AT LEAST ONE SOLID WALL
A method for calibrating a metal profile blank configured as a hollow-chamber profile having at least one solid wall. A pressing tool is closed in a main direction about one end region of an element of the profile blank until surfaces of the pressing tool lie against a pair of surfaces of the profile blank to be calibrated, deforming and bending the at least one end region of the element. The pressing tool is closed in a secondary direction perpendicular to the main direction until surfaces of the pressing tool lie against surfaces of the at least one end region, and wedge-like limbs of a drive element of the pressing tool engage wedge-like dies of the pressing tool. The pressing tool is closed further in the secondary direction, subjecting the profile blank to plastic deformation so as to reduce or eliminate the bending of the end region.
