Cored wire with particulate material
11525168 · 2022-12-13 · ·

A cored wire for refining molten metal includes a reactive core material that is in the form of a solid rod. A non-reactive particulate material radially surrounds the solid core material, and an exterior metal jacket radially surrounds the particulate material. The particulate material may include wood or other material that when introduced into the molten metal, undergoes thermal decomposition to release carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, or combinations thereof as a shroud around the core material.

Air cooled condenser and related methods

A vertical bundle air-cooled heat exchanger, a finned tube assembly for an air cooled condenser and method for forming the same, and a system for removing thermal energy generated by radioactive materials. In one aspect, an air cooled condenser sized for industrial and commercial application includes an inlet steam distribution header for conveying steam, a condensate outlet header for conveying condensate, an array of tube bundles each having a plurality of finned tube assemblies having a bare steel tube with an exposed outer surface and a set of aluminum fins brazed directly onto the tube by a brazing filler metal. The steel tubes may be spaced apart by the aluminum fins and have an inlet end fluidly coupled to the inlet steam distribution header and an outlet end fluidly coupled to the outlet header. A forced draft fan may be arranged to blow air through the tube bundles.

CYLINDRICAL BODY AND APPARATUS
20230097168 · 2023-03-30 ·

A cylindrical body includes a cylindrical member, made by forming a metal plate into a cylindrical shape such that the two end faces of the metal plate face each other, and a nonmetallic adhesive member bonding the two end faces together. The two end faces each include an adhesive part, and the adhesive member is disposed between the adhesive parts of the end faces. The adhesive part of one end face is not parallel to the adhesive part of the other end face. Each end face also includes a contact part which is in contact with the contact part of the other end face.

A sealant system for operation with a metal workpiece comprises a frame, a cam assembly mounted to said frame, a sealant reservoir, a sealant application unit connected to said sealant reservoir, and a control module for coordinating operation of said cam assembly and said sealant reservoir, wherein said control module comprises a temperature sensor for monitoring the temperature of said sealant, an integrated heating system for heating said sealant and a controller in communication with said temperature sensor and said integrated heating system.

Automatic precision clinching system for manufacturing sheet metal tubes
11110508 · 2021-09-07 ·

A system for automatically forming sheet metal tubes from blanks cut to size. The system having a mechanism for positioning a blank for processing. A lifting arrangement having a wrap strap and pressure pad to raise the blank to a forming station having a mandrel is positioned so that the wrap strap extends on either side of said mandrel and underneath the blank before a side wiper on each side of said mandrel forces the overlap of opposite edges of the blank along a length of the mandrel. The mandrel includes a clinching die bar along its length. A sealing mechanism with a vertically movable row of clinching prongs is lowered to attach the overlapping edges of the blank by clinching at multiple positions to form a tube around the mandrel before being removed by a gag bar and a stripper plate.
