Armoured cable and its manufacture
A product having a metal strip and a central longitudinal axis. The strip has two or more strip parts, each having a common radius of curvature defining a helix having an angle being offset from one another in the direction of the axis. A cross section of the strip parts causes them to be interlocked together throughout their lengths to define a flexible metal tube. The outside diameter of the tube is between ⅜″ and 1⅜″ and the helix angle of each strip part is between eight and thirty degrees.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING STRIP WOUND TUBES
An apparatus and a method for producing strip wound tube products are disclosed. The apparatus includes a winding machine for winding a strip to a strip wound tube and a finishing machine for cutting off pieces of desired length from the strip wound tube and for connecting strip layers in the end sections of the strip wound tube product by way of an joining operation, the finishing machine having a mobile operating head and/or a force decoupling unit.
Method and apparatus for cutting openings in sidewall of spiral pipe
An apparatus for forming spiral pipe includes a spiral pipe forming station having a feeding device for feeding a continuous strip and a bending device that receives the strip fed from the feeding device. The bending device has a fixed rolling element that forms a spiral pipe having a longitudinal axis and a sidewall. The apparatus also includes a cutting station having a cutting device movably extending in a direction of the longitudinal axis of the spiral pipe. A controller is operatively connected to the spiral pipe forming station and the cutting station to continuously operate the pipe forming station while the cutting station is operated to cut through the sidewall of the spiral pipe to define the one or more register holes.
Elbow-Shaped Duct Manufacturing Apparatus
An object of the present disclosure is to provide an elbow-shaped duct manufacturing apparatus in which the height of a forming section is easily adjusted as a duct vane forming part has an up and down detachable structure.
A METHOD FOR PRODUCING A CARCASS, A METHOD OF PRODUCING A FLEXIBLE PIPE AND A FLEXIBLE PIPE
A method of producing a carcass for a flexible pipe, the carcass and a flexible pipe with the carcass includes providing at least one first metallic strip a cover metallic strip. Shaping the first strip to have a profile with a first fold adapted to face towards the carcass axis and a second fold adapted to face away from the carcass axis. Pretreating an anchor width section of the cover strip including a weakening treatment of resistance against length extension and/or a length extension of the pretreated part of the anchor width section. Inserting the anchor width section of the cover strip into the first fold, ensuring that a cover width section of the cover strip extends beyond the second fold. Helically winding the first metallic strip and the cover strip, to provide that the first fold engages and interlocks with the second fold and that the cover width section covers a helical interstice between windings of the first metallic strip on the inner side of the carcass.
Tubular core and method
Disclosed is a tubular core on which sheets of metal or other material can be wound and supported, for shipment, handling and dispersal, and a method for forming the core. The core comprises a metal sheet or strip which has a rectangular-ribbed cross-sectional profile comprising rectangular, flat ribs, and which is wound spirally into a tubular configuration. The core is formed by passing the strip through a plurality of roll-forming stands, to progressively form sections of the ribs and progressively define the sections into the rectangular ribbed profile in which the flat ribs collectively form a support surface for the sheets which are to be wound on the core.
Immobilised insert
A method and apparatus are disclosed. The method includes the steps of providing an elongate sheet having a uniform thickness and a first and further spaced apart long edge, to a first pair of a plurality of spaced apart pairs of opposed forming roller elements, and via the pairs of roller elements, progressively forming a cross-sectional profile in the sheet that comprises a body portion comprising a folded central region of the sheet and a first and further wing portion that each extend away from the body portion and terminate at a respective long edge of the sheet, and securing adjacent regions of the wing portions and/or opposed regions of the body portion together thereby providing a windable elongate tape element having laterally immobilised wing portions.
IMPROVEMENTS IN ARMOURED CABLE AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PIPE TUBULAR REINFORCEMENT FORMING MACHINE, AND RELATED METHOD
A machine that includes a first feeder, able to unwind a first tape; a profiler comprising an upstream profiling stage able to profile the first tape to form a pre-profiled first tape; a second feeder, able to unwind a second tape, the second tape being a flat tape. A profiler that includes an intermediate joining stage able to receive the second tape as a flat tape from the second feeder and able to join the pre-formed first tape and the flat second tape; and at least a downstream profiling stage configured to jointly profile the first tape and the second tape received from the intermediate joining stage and form a combined profiled strip.
