U-O forming of a component curved about three spatial axes
The present disclosure relates to a method for producing a shaped sheet metal component from a billet by means of U O forming, wherein firstly a preform is created by the U-forming and then a final shaping is performed by the O forming to give a final form.

Provided is a vehicle structure including: a pipe member forming a part of a frame of a vehicle; and a wire-shaped body having flexibility, in which the pipe member includes a pipe portion forming a pipe shape and a flange portion formed to protrude from the pipe portion, and is formed of one member in which the pipe portion and the flange portion are continuous with each other, and the wire-shaped body is disposed in at least one of a first state where the wire-shaped body is disposed along the flange portion and a second state where the wire-shaped body strides over the flange portion.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CONTAINER AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING CONTAINER
A method of manufacturing a container made of metal, including a bottom portion and a body portion, being open on an upper face side, and having a shape in which the body portion expands outward toward the upper face side. The method includes a stretch forming step of expanding a diameter of a stepped cup body made of metal by operating a diameter expanding punch having a tapered pressing portion that is smaller in diameter than an inner diameter of the large-diameter cylindrical portion and larger in diameter than an inner diameter of the small-diameter cylindrical portion of the stepped cup body along a cylindrical axis direction from an opening side of the large-diameter cylindrical portion, in which the stretch forming step is performed at least once.
Torsion beam manufacturing method and torsion beam manufacturing apparatus
This torsion beam manufacturing method is for manufacturing a torsion beam including a central portion of which a cross-section orthogonal to a longitudinal direction is a closed cross-section having a substantial V-shape or a substantial U-shape at any position in the longitudinal direction, and a shape changing portion which has a connection region leading to the central portion and including a closed cross-section having a shape different from the shape of the closed cross-section of the central portion. This torsion beam manufacturing method has a compression step of thickening at least the connection region through application of a compression force in the longitudinal direction to at least the connection region of a torsion beam material to obtain the torsion beam, the torsion beam material being formed with the central portion and the shape changing portion.
Forming device and metal pipe
A forming device which expands a metal pipe material to form a metal pipe having a pipe portion and a flange portion includes first and second dies paired with each other and including pipe forming surfaces for forming the pipe portion and flange forming surfaces for forming the flange portion, a drive unit that drives at least one of the first and second dies, and a controller that controls the drive unit, in which, on at least one of the flange forming surfaces of the first and second dies, a protrusion portion protruding by an amount not to abut against the other flange forming surface when the dies are closed is formed and the controller controls the drive unit to form a thin wall portion at which a thickness of the flange portion becomes partially small at the flange portion by the protrusion portion pressing the flange portion.
HOLLOW SHELL PART MANUFACTURING METHOD
Disclosed is a manufacturing method that can suppress the occurrence of wrinkles and buckling deformation due to bending when bending and cross-sectioning are performed on a tube using a press die. The manufacturing method of the present disclosure includes applying pressure to a bent tube having a curved portion from the outside of the tube to the inside of the tube using a press die, thereby simultaneously performing cross-sectioning of the curved portion and bending of the curved portion to reduce the bend radius of the curved portion.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A MOTOR VEHICLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENT FROM AN EXTRUDED MULTICHAMBER HOLLOW PROFILE
The invention concerns a method for manufacturing a motor vehicle structural component (1) from an extruded multichamber hollow profile, with the following steps: a) provision of an extruded profile (2) with at least two precursor hollow chambers (8, 9) which are separated from one another by an inner wall (7), wherein at least one outer wall (3, 4) of at least one precursor hollow chamber (8, 9), in cross-section perpendicularly to the longitudinal extent of the extruded profile (2), has a region (16) with non-linear course, b) forming of the extruded profile (2) in at least one of its end regions into the motor vehicle structural component (1), wherein at least the region (16) with non-linear course of the at least one outer wall (3, 4) of the at least one precursor hollow chamber (8, 9), with non-linear course in cross-section, is at least partially straightened, with a change in cross-section of the respective precursor hollow chamber (8, 9) into the cross-section of the corresponding hollow chamber (14, 15) of the motor vehicle structural component (1). (FIG. 1)
Method for producing a torsional profile from a blank, and torsional profile
The invention relates to a method for producing a torsional profile from a blank. The torsional profile has torsionally rigid tubular end sections, a torsionally flexible U-shaped middle longitudinal section and, between the middle longitudinal section and the end sections, transition sections which change from the U-shaped cross section to the tubular cross section.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FORMING AN ANTIPOLLUTION DEVICE HOUSING
A tool assembly for forming a workpiece with an outer surface into a housing with a non-round design outer profile. The tool assembly includes a number of jaw segments, each jaw segment having an internal surface for engaging the outer surface. The jaw segments are movable between a first condition and a second condition, in which the internal surfaces of the jaw segments substantially define the design outer profile of the housing. Each internal surface has a preselected end point associated therewith defined by a radius centered on the preselected end point that is substantially coincident with the portion of the design outer profile defined by the internal surface. Each jaw segment is movable toward the preselected end point therefor when moved from the first condition to the second condition, and away from the preselected end point therefor when moved from the second condition to the first condition.
Method and tool for calibration of a hollow profile component produced by extrusion for automobile manufacturing
A method for the calibration or end sizing of a hollow profile component produced by extrusion for automobile manufacturing. The hollow profile component is inserted into the cavity of an opened press tool and closing the press tool. Expandable mandrels are introduced into the open profile ends of the hollow profile component. The hollow profile component is calibrated or end-sized by applying force simultaneously on the outside and on the inside. The expandable mandrels are retracted, opening of the press tool, and removing of the hollow profile component.
