A punching apparatus includes a punch holder and a punching tool. The punch holder includes a guiding body having a mounting cavity to slidably receive the punching tool and a driving assembly connected to the guiding body and provided with a beating element having first and second connecting ends coupled by a threaded coupling that enables a relative rotation for a linear movement of the punching tool with respect to the beating element. A stopping element has a first end fixed inside a connecting cavity in one of the connecting ends and arranged to receive the other connecting end and a second end inserted into a stopping cavity of the other connecting end and sliding inside the stopping cavity.

Adjustable width blanking die apparatuses

A blanking die apparatus includes a first blanking die including an upper die shoe including an upper die shoe cutting surface and a lower die shoe including a lower die shoe cutting surface. A second blanking die includes an upper die shoe including an upper die shoe cutting surface and a lower die shoe including a lower die shoe cutting surface. The second blanking die movable on a base in a feed direction to increase and decrease a dimension of a blank formed between the first blanking die and the second blanking die.

Punch holder and punch configurations

Punch holders and corresponding punch configurations configured to increase the ease and speed by which maintenance and/or modification of punches used with the holders can be performed. In some cases, the punch holder can be configured with one or more upper and lower collars operatively situated on differing areas of the holder, with each collar adapted to perform a different action with regard to a punch held by the holder. In some cases, when the upper collar is rotated, a corresponding height adjustment of a punch held by the holder results. In some cases, when the lower collar is rotated, a punch held by the holder is released.

Adjustable punch head assembly

A punch head assembly that includes a punch head including a main body having opposite first and second ends, a longitudinal inner bore, a first passageway extending substantially radially from the inner bore, and a second passageway substantially traversing the first passageway. A ball bearing is received in the first passageway. A pin member is received in the second passageway. The pin member is rotationally movable between first and second positions. A driver is coupled to the punch head and includes a stem extending into the inner bore. The stem has an outer ball engagement surface. The punch head is axially movable with respect to the stem. Axial movement of the pin member in the second passageway moves the ball bearing into and out of engagement with the outer ball engagement surface for adjusting an axial position of the punch head with respect to the driver.

Method of adjusting a punch body assembly

A method of adjusting punch body assembly, that has a punch body coupled to a driver, by moving the driver with respect to the punch body until a select axial position is reached along the longitudinal axis of the punch body and locking the driver at the select axial position.
